Doctor Who - Complete Collection - DVD - Seasons 1-10

The Christmas specials are included with in the early series, but from the 3rd Tennant series onward, there are some blanks--the later Christmas shows, The Day of the Doctor. You have to buy those separately. Nevertheless, it's a decent bundled price for 10 years of Dr. Who and I've spent hours enjoying them since they arrived. Most of the Tennant episodes have entertaining commentary, often by David Tennant himself along with others involved in the production. Most of the series sets also have an extra special features disks with the Dr. Who Confidential behind-the-scenes promos or video diaries.

For someone who's just now getting into Doctor Who and is hungry to see some quality DW, I would seriously steer them away from series 11 -- NOT a good starting point by any means but this ---series 1 thru 10---is not a bad purchase, even for the price. I gave this entire collection four stars as it's not perfect---no collection of 144 episodes are but there is much much much more great than poor here. I'm also assuming that all Christmas specials will be added in here. Not sure about the 50th anniversary ep though.In any case, show runner Russell T Davies brings us the adventures of the 9th Doctor, Chris Eccleston and 10th Doctor David Tennant. Steven Moffat brings us the adventures of 11th Doctor Matt Smith and 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi. Although in the past, I've stated that either the beginning of the Smith era with "The Eleventh Hour" is a good stepping on point, as is series 10 with Capaldi, this collection allows one to begin at the beginning of the New era with "Rose" and Eccleston. That's really all you need to know and begin the adventure. I envy you the adventure to come.

I just got this and anticipate no issues, but wanted to inform future buyers that what I got is ten COMPLETE seasons, even though the image shows just Part One for S10. I hesitated to buy it, knowing I might have to buy "part two" for S10, so I'm pretty happy that they have actually included the entire season...makes it that much better of a deal!
