Very nice sander
I have used commercial sanders for years. I purchased this for my home shop and I would consider this as good as any I have used. I read the concerns about dust collection issues and belt tracking issues. I find the dust collection to be quite adequate so Jet may have redesigned this in recent models. The belt tracking is touchy. The trick is to use both adjustable knobs not just top or bottom. The goal is to put even tension on the drum. Play with it a few times on a new belt and then it’s set until you replace the belt again. The power in the direct drive motor is exceptional. I have not had any issues bogging down at all. I rewired mine to 240V just because it’s less stressful on the motor. The quality of the entire unit appears exceptional to me. I am very pleased with this purchase. Would buy again.

Great light use shop sander
Came with open stand. Stand took about 30 minutes to assemble. 20 minutes to clean the packing grease off the tables. One needs a partner and lifting strap to safely lift the unit onto the stand. One hour to bolt to stand, install tables, square/adjust tables, install sanding disc and belt. Tables were in square out of the box. When attaching to my dust collection system I opted to flip dust exit chute 180 degrees: remove the 4 screws from the dust exit chute and reattach; easily done with no adverse consequences. Runs great and does exactly what I need. Plastic miter gauge kind of cheesy, but works.

arrived broken
This thing is a beast and may be a great product but it arrived broken. It was obviously dropped on one side for 2 grand that is unacceptable.

Expensive machine but you get what you pay for.
I bought this one after purchasing sander that was about half the price and then returning it. This one is heavy duty and should last a life time.

the stand is very sturdy. The motor is very heavy
This heavy sander comes in a wood pallet. Attached to the main package will be a box that contains the legs/stand base. They have an exact number of nuts and bolts to put them together. After putting them together, the stand is very sturdy. The motor is very heavy. You need two people to put it on the stand. After putting it all together, and using it for several months, the side cover for the belt does not close properly. It is very hard to close if at all. It seems like even with a vacuum attached, the dust is everywhere when sanding. A better design of channeling wood dust is necessary for this powerful machine. The degree scale gauge is an aluminum tape can easily get nicked by the degree needle while installing. Be careful when you are sanding a wood on the belt sander, and the wood is longer than the length of distance between the sanding belt and the drum sander. You can easily nick your fingers on the drum sander while sliding the wood. They should have made the base plate of the belt sander sit little higher than the height of the drum sander or a little further out.
