Aquios OEM RCFS220L Full House Water Conditioning/Filtration Replacement Cartridge (with VOC reduction)

Quality of water is so pure. With this you filter contaminants and deal with hard water. But by doing both the filter doesn't last. At $70 you are paying premium for premium water. At least I know contaminated hard water will not destroy my appliances and is worth it for me. Household of 4 the filter last us 3-4 months.

Oct.2013We put our Aquios filter/softener in over a year ago and the water still tasted fine,though I did notice some calcium build up about a month ago.I replaced the filter today.There is only my wife and me,so I got out of it what I expected.About a year,and that's with a dish washer and 30 gal. hot water heater.Like I said in my initial review,we don't buy bottled water anymore,we just refill the bottles we already had,over and over.I like this filter/softener.It's really saving our water using appliance's.Since we cleaned our water heater,a few years before we installed the softener,we don't get that banging noise of calcium chunks anymore.The old filter I took out was very brown,so,it did it's job.If you have a laminate floor,do install it in the garage or somewhere out of the house,cause when you change the filter,some water comes out the top when you remove the cap.Maybe I didn't do it right,I don't know,but,we have ours in the garage anyway.

I've used these for 3 1/2 years and love the system. I wish they didn't cost so much, but it filters out all of the crud in our water. We have hard water where we live and these filters take the calcium deposits and other heavy mineral deposits out of our water. After 3 years we had our tankless water heater flushed by a plumber (I found we should do it at least every 2 years) and he said there was nothing in the tank. No sediment. No deposits. He said it was very clean.

Installed this in a Pentex 150166 3/4" #20 filter housing rather than the Aquios extremely expensive filter housing. It works perfectly in that housing. We installed this in series with a sediment filter in the same Pentex housing before the expensive Aquios. I have only given it four stars as we are still only weeks in the house and unsure how long these will last. Besides water hardness, we have an issue with rotten egg smell in the water. Initially the Aquios filter completely eliminated the odor but in a few weeks the odor started to return. My theory is that the carbon part of the filter was eliminating the odor because when it I replaced the filter the odor immediately went away. We will see overtime what the long term performance is. I may end up placing another carbon filter in place of the sediment filter and see how that works in series with the Aquios. Overall I am pleased with construction and performance so far, but dissatisfied with the high cost.

I have owned the Aquios system for almost a year and I am delighted by the performance of this product. My wife had been bugging me for years to install a water softener, but seeing the hassle that family members and friends that have conventional salt-based systems left me less than enthusiastic.After doing extensive research I decided to give the Aquios unit a try and haven't looked back since. All the benefits of a traditional water softener plus whole-house filtration and zero maintenance. I just installed my second replacement cartridge (the first one lasted just over 7 months). Replacing the cartridge is as simple as turning the locking ring at the top of the unit to "off", opening some faucets to relieve back pressure, unscrewing the housing and swap the cartridge. Whole process takes less than two minutes.My water is clear, no lime or scale buildup, clothes are cleaner and the water simply tastes better. Highly recommended.

This is my first replacement for the Aquios whole house water conditioner I installed a little over six months ago. The Aquios estimate of six month life expectancy for an average family of four is pretty close. My wife noticed scale starting for form again in the coffee maker and told me it was time to order the replacement cartridge. Overall we are extremely happy with the Aquios product! We no longer have calcium building on our fixtures. I haven't noticed any of the old buildup comming off though.My only complaint was shipping was a bit slower than expected but I will plan ahead in the future.

Installed this over a year ago. Due to the wonderful water in PHX AZ the filter clogged up within 2 months with a very noticeable decrease in house water pressure. I installed a 5um pre-filter and now the Aquios filter last ~ 6 months before pressure and water quality changes are noticeable. At $70+ per filter exchanging them every 2 months was not financially acceptable. Replacing the filter 2 or 3 times a year is much better.As for the results of the filter on the water quality the improvement is spectacular. PHX AZ has very hard water and the taste is not the most pleasant. With the pre-filter and Aquios RCFS220L cartridge the water from the tap is close in taste to bottled water. Plus there is a noticeable reduction in calcium build up on the faucets.

The filter does a great job with our well water, but we found that it really needed a sediment filter upstream or it wouldn't last more than three months before reducing our pressure to a trickle. Also, the granules that are supposed to soften the water are in the core of the filter and sometimes float up to clog the screen at the top, leaving us with no pressure. I don't know how effective the supposed water softening is in any case. I may start removing the screens and shaking out the granules to avoid this problem.
