I purchased this for my first attempt at onigiri. Tbh I have never had umeboshi before so I pretty much picked this brand at random. Because it looked less violently red than the others. I taste tested one this morning. And I am absolutely in love with the flavor profile. It is very much like the Mexican candies I like. Sweet and salty and tangy all at the same time. I think the recipe is going to turn out delicious. Not sure how authentic it is or how it compares to other brands. I will have to try some others to compare. But I am pleased with it.

I will be buying again, I love them. They are not the nasty salt-lick umeboshi. These do have a salty taste but reins in the flavor, the after taste is amazing.

I love umeboshi. That said, the contain arrived barely intact - it was crushed a bit on one side, the lid bent inwards, the seal broken. Were this any other food item, it would've gone straight to trash, but because they're pickled plums, I wasn't too worried as they keep well enough even left out... But seriously, the juices were coating the shipping bag and container, and it was pretty annoying to clean up. :/

Everything in moderation is good,IT tastes good and it is reaonably priced but if you are particular about it being organic,this is not for you,It has MSG and high fructose corn syrup

I had a craving for umeboshi onigiri and had to get pickled plums. These arrived very promptly, just in time for my long weekend, and they were just right for some tasty onigiri. 😋 plump, firm, and the pits removed easily.

Ingredients are innacurate. Package says it is made with high fructose corn syrup and sorbitol. I would never have bought this if those ingredients had been listed. And cannot return.

Is my favorite food. I’ve been in love with it since I was a child. So happy I can get these on Amazon.

Arrived quickly & in good form. Umebosi are perfect and delicious. I’m fond of the Kamikaze - 2 TBLs Japanese plum wine, vodka, I stir them plop in an Umeboshi = Paradise.
