Brillian, life-changing book on treating and curing tinnitus
Peter Studenik's book is simply the best book on tinnitus. It explains in an easy-to-understand format the cause and solution to tinnitus. He describes the tinnitus sound as electrical activity of living nerve cells - essentially, the sound is "music of the brain." Tinnitus is triggered by an extreme event such as stress or loud concerts. And the solution is to retrain the brain to hear the tinnitus sound as background noise through a very specific use of sound therapy (pink or white noise), using high-quality sound equipment. He also discusses the importance of diet and stress reduction. His treatment is based on groundbreaking research of Dr. Pawel Jastreboff of Yale University. Peter Studenik explains this research in a logical, easy way, which is the brilliance of this book. Simply understanding the cause and the cure gives great hope and leads to recovery. This book should be read by anyone who experiences tinnitus and all doctors. It cannot be overstated. Really grateful that the author wrote this book.

If I Had Known Before I BOught this I never Would Have
This was a poor investment. The book did not tell me anything I didn’t already know and I don’t know why I bought it.

One of the best books I found
After reading a couple of books on tinnitus, my conclusion is that this book had the best and most helpful information. Mr. Studenik focused on the Tinnitus Retraining Therapy, by Dr. Pawel Jastroboff. Mr. Studenik explained what Dr. Jastroboff's method is, and how to implement it. The author also has a website which has some interesting articles and links. There were two websites mentioned in the book: www.tinnitus-pjj.com, and www.tinnitus.org. After personally reading the contents of the websites, I found them to be informative and very helpful as well. There is a lot of unhelpful information out there, and some of it, unfortunately, comes from doctors. I have been the recipient of some of that unhelpful and outdated information. The only shortcoming I could find in the author's website is the information on the earbuds he recommends with the MP3 player. They have been discontinued by the manufacturer, so I am in the process of finding a replacement to go with my MP3 player. If you are having a problem with tinnitus, I suggest reading this book and looking at the treatment protocol of Dr. Jastroboff as an option for treatment. I am using suggestions in this book for my own treatment. And even thought I am not completely cured, the option outlined in this book gives me much hope.

Hope
This book is amazing. I am trying his program, getting a little better. It takes a while to overcome this, but at least there is hope. I listen to pink and white noise, and at least I have some relief. I listen to it before I go to bed, and during the day. The author overcame a debilitating case of tinnitus. I highly recommend this to anyone suffering with this. Try a white noise machine and go to youtube, There are hundreds of music and pink and white noise videos.

Definitely worth the purchase
I highly recommend purchasing this book if you suffer from tinnitus. I have suffered for 10 years, and am now ready to begin my journey towards healing. Peter is not out to make a buck, but more motivated to help people. The book gives you all the resources you need to start your journey. I also highly recommend his website.I will post a future review of my results in 3 months.

Finally a cure for tinnitus that does exist.
An essential book to have. I found this book very reassuring and scientifically solid in its approach for reversing tinnitus - a condition that many GP's have a limited knowledge about and who frankly are in much need of this information. The authors struggling experience with tinnitus inspired me during very dark moments, and this largely came about due to the misinformation about tinnitus that is offered presently by the medical community in its view that tinnitus has 'no cure' and that' one must learn to live with it' - an utterly false statement and one that is completely detrimental to the thousands who suffer from it. I am a work in progress and I have new hope now - I will be forwarding this scientific information to my health professionals. I am grateful that the author's research for answers for this condition lead him to the work of neurologist Pawel Jasterboff pioneer of Tinnitus Reversal Treatment. The author and Prof Jasterboff can be contacted via the links in this book which is very comforting. With much appreciation to you both.

it helped me
August last year i went to bed one night,i noticed this awful sound in my ear, thought it was outside, but then realised it my in my ear,to cut a long story short,i was devastated has i had heard so many awful stories about tinnitus,i tried to shut it out and tell myself it was not tinnitus,i came across this book,so thought give it ago,i read it twice, and i was very reassured by it,at the back of the book was his e mail so i e-mailed him my questions about tinnitus and what was pink noise,he answered all my questions,i have not bought a MP 3 player has yet, because the noise has calmed down to a fashion i can cope with, but i am not ruling it out. Also he told me a visit to the doctors would put my mind at rest and confirm that it was definitely tinnitus,i did do that and i was diagnosed,so knew what i was up against.i have now passed it on to a friend who has tinnitus.

Better as a blog than a book
Poor translation and repetitive short history of the author's personal experiences and final road to recovery from tinnitus caused by loud noise. Not sure how helpful as additional material to what is already available on-line.
