I’ve been a huge fan of Lauren for a long time and have bought pretty much everything she makes, so when this book was released, naturally I had to have it. I’m a first timer at crochet and this book has been perfect! There are wonderful pictures that help to guide you and show how things are done. The instructions are easy to follow (especially for a novice like me). I recommend this book to everyone and cannot rave about it enough. All of the creatures/foods/plants are beyond adorable. I love this new hobby I’ve discovered and it’s all because of Lauren and this amazing book.

Essentially new to Crochet, and totally new to Amigurumi, this book has me 'hooked'! Started with Jellyfish (easy and recommend as a first attempt), and been going ever since. I have since also completed the Whale, Pig, Cow, Cactus Garden, Donut, Muffin, coffee cup, cherry pie, and am working on the Sunflower. All have come out fabulous.

Fun, creative ideas. Simple instructions that even our 12yo, with limited crochet experience—pretty much washcloths with a handful of different stitches—can do. For example, she's making a pineapple right now and the instructions asked for a stitch she didn't know. She found a tutorial in the book's beginning, and was able to learn the new stitch, entirely on her own.

I tried to learn how to crochet by watching YouTube and websites but couldn’t figure it out. After many failed attempts, I was able to finally learn from this book! I am so happy with it!

This was the first amigurumi book I've ever purchased! I liked it so much because it gave great instructions for a beginning crocheter like myself. It also opened me up to the other PDF that Lauren came out with, 100 Days of Mini Amigurumi which I would HIGHLY recommend. My only qualm with this book was that some of the patterns were just too BIG for my taste-- I tend to like smaller amigurumi that you can keep on your desk and not take up too much space.Other than that, my favorites were the foods and I can't wait to make more!

I pre-ordered this book from Amazon and received it as soon as it was released. So many cute patterns I couldn’t decide what to make first! I’ve made the donut and the turtle. The turtle was my favorite! Easy to read and easy to understand!

Whimsical Stitches is a beautiful, fun book! I made something the same day the book made it to my house. I am not a crochet expert but that’s just another reason why this book is SO great! Simple stitches, easy to follow patterns and helpful photos!!I had a question on a pattern and reached out to the creator via instagram (hello 2019) and she got back to me within 5 minutes and was so kind, helpful and fully answered my question. I was able to finish the pattern in no time after her help!!All and all, it’s a GREAT and fun book!! My 4 year old and 1 year old are having a blast playing with all the little creatations!!

I love this crochet book :). When I first saw it I knew I had to have it. Lauren is a great designer, and I now have all of her patterns. The patterns in this book are easy to follow, and there are great picture tutorials. My copy was missing a part of a pattern, and the designer was great at getting back to me and letting me get the missing part. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to make some adorable amigurumi patterns :).

I've attached pictures of my makes in the order that I made them, I'm still in the process of making the pig. The cactus is just one part of a larger pattern included in the book, I added the flower from a different pattern (not in book).Pros:- I had never crocheted before I picked up this book so I found the step by step photos really helpful, I struggled with the magic ring at first and needed to watch a youtube video before I got the hang of it, apart from that I was able to easily follow all the instructions in the book- I love the range of patterns available and find they are quite flexible in that if I choose a different weight of wool than the one recommended or add extra stitches by accident they still come out greatThings to know before you buy:- The book uses American terminology e.g. double crochet in UK is known as single crochet in the US. Also the weights or the yarn are called different things e.g. worsted weight in the US is called Aran in the UK, as I was completely new to crochet & from the UK I had to work out these differences, this is easily done by doing a google search and shouldn't put you off.- Most of the patterns use a 4.25mm crochet hook, this seems to be a US only size and I was only able to find one from Boye on Amazon, again this shouldn't be a problem if you buying this book from Amazon you can buy the recommended hook at the same time or ignore the recommendation and just use a 5mm hook.

A good range of patterns to crochet some very cute things. I only learnt to crochet a month ago, but I have already made 2 cacti and a whale! Instructions are basic but sound, the crochet terms are US usage,but easy to translate. The directions for placing eyes and mouths are good. Plenty of photos to help. Easy patterns can be made in a day . I even made a mini cactus using 4ply yarn and a 2.5mm hook. There is no indication of how much yarn is needed which is why I have docked one star, I needed 2 balls for whale. Stock up on plastic safety eyes and aran weight cotton yarn and get making!

This is the first crochet book where I actually want to, and believe I will be able to, make. It's a beautiful, gorgeous book and will recommend to my crochet friends. Love it. Well done Lauren Espy!

I've been following Lauren for a while on Instsgram and just had to get her book. It's beautifully layed out with clear instructions and photos for you to follow and make the wonderful amigurumis. I've made a few whales so far (pictured) and currently working on the succulents. So many great designs! An ideal gift for a beginner or experienced crocheter. Also, the patterns are quick to make up which means plenty of time to make more!

An amazing book full of gorgeous crochet patterns. A vast array of different ideas that I think you'd find hard to get bored with!The patterns are well written and the pictures are so cute I just wanna squeal in delight.This is a book that any crocheter, beginner or advanced, will enjoy.
