Elegant solution - much more secure than clip on mounting
The best way to mount a rack to a bike is bolting it directly to the frame. If you can't do that, this is the next best option. My bike has fender mounts for the lower mounting, but no holes on the chain stays, and tubing too wide for a regular clamp. This thing has my rack fitted on just right. I'd use this on any bike that didn't have touring rack specific holes in the frame.
