Another competent treatise on an important topic of self-sufficiency.
I have more books on the subject matter than I can remember, and this version compliments the others.I'm sure you are aware of this but each author writing about a specific topic brings their own, unique, experiences to the table, and this is good.Based on the writers location, the methodology used is modified for their own particular situation and locale. Additionally, the equipment and parts/pieces used can/will be different than yours perhaps because of space, temperature and maybe environmental concerns.Given the above, it is ALWAYS good to have multiple sources of information.This book compliments others in the genre and I recommend it as an addition to your collection.

Meh
At worst, dictated but not read; at best, typed but not written. A decent introduction to the topic, but it's doubtful this book would suffice to get you across the finish line. I'm moving on to a book with more details and more diagrams.

Short and to the point
Short and to the point. This is my 6th book on Aquaponics. My brain just goes on vacation when these books go more than a couple of pages about chemistry

What's a swirl filter and how does it work?
The pamphlet is a little shy of some important information and pics here and there, but has good how-to instruction throughout. Hadn't heard of a "swirl filter" prior to reading Mr. Hopper's work, and I do like the concept, but I am still wondering how the suction is created to make this filter work. I suppose it would be a rare work that answered all of one's questions on a given topic, yet that's the standard used to pass judgement. On that basis, three stars would be about right. However, I find myself going back through the pages now and then, gleaning little extra bits of information. And on that basis, four stars seem more appropriate. Four stars it is.
