Bread-making and the aromas of cooking and of freshly cooked bread assume special importance in these Covid times.This slicer guide is a welcome addition to my process. It has visual appeal, is sturdy and works well. I particularly like to be able to choose a slice thickness from its three options.The guide accommodates a wide range of loaf sizes, which means that the space between the guides on each side is wide. My bread knife has a 9" blade, and that's about as small as I'd like for this guide. Another inch of stroke length would be desirable, so maybe I'll get a new, longer, bread knife.I don’t expect products to be perfect, what makes the difference is how well the support behind the product steps up to problems. When Kozy sent the product, nobody had noticed a split in the side of the crumb tray and that a corner was opening up. I contacted Kozy through Amazon and they agreed to mail a replacement tray. The replacement is perfect. Well done!I'd like to conclude with some comments about the visual appeal of this slicer guide. Being made of all-natural materials, and finished nicely, it complements the appearance of my breads. Nothing plastic, nothing metal. It just makes me feel good when I'm using it. It's the best slicer guide I have used to date!

I have not been able to uise this product as there were no suggestions as to how it goes together. It will not stay together for me. Not sure hpw how it will work if I can get it to stay together. I make glutin free bread for my husband and it is not as wide as regular bread. I ordered this because the one I had fell apart when using it with the narrow loaf. Hoping some else can figure it out.. Unable to rate as it does not go together.

This item is exactly as advertised but arrived with one end of wood slate broken and hanging, I glued it hopefully that will hold.

I wanted to like this product. It looked and felt well made, but there were a few things that just didn't work for me. For one thing, there were no instructions. It wasn't that hard to figure out, but instructions would have been nice. The slicing guide only allows you to cut a few slices the same size, then you have to move the loaf to continue cutting the same size slices. So if you want to slice a whole loaf of bread as I did, you'd have to cut a few slices, move the loaf, cut a few more, and so on until you finish the loaf. A lot of bread slicers I've looked at are made this way, but I'd prefer one that has just one average size guide so the bread wouldn't constantly have to be moved while slicing. Lastly, the width is not adjustable and it was too wide for my longest (13" with 8" blade) bread knife. I returned it because of the multiple size slicing guide and the width. I'd buy it again absent those things.

I tried to like this bread slicer, but its design makes it impossible to use. I am unable to use when slicing my artisan sourdough bread loaves for two reasons: (1) the space where the bread goes is unadjustable and while I knew this, I felt that I could make it work for my loaves. I was wrong. (2) It's the bamboo slats that are the real problem here. When slicing my bread with a good serrated bread knife, it is impossible not to slice into the bamboo slats. Pretty soon you have bamboo shavings everywhere and the knife gets stuck in the bamboo slats. I spent so much effort to avoid slicing the bamboo that my bread slices were all messed up. You can see in the pictures what I'm talking about. And I know how to wield a bread knife - so my cutting skills are not the problem.Ironically, inside the box that this bread slicer guide was a little note saying that if I was unhappy, before leaving a negative review I should contact them. I emailed them three times and have never heard back from them. Definitely would not order this product again.This issue may be a problem with all of the bread slicing guides you see on Amazon, but all I know is that this one certainly doesn't do the job and creates a lot of other issues (bamboo shavings). I might use the included slotted crumb catching tray when I slice my bread freehand in the future, but I won't be using the slicing guide itself - which was why I bought it to begin with.Very disappointed - in the product and the lack of responsiveness of the company when, at their request, I wrote them about my concerns.

I bought this to insure consistent slices for a special dietary need. It works wonderfully. Love the crumb tray and the fact that it folds up for storage. The only problem is that one needs to be cautious about slicing too close to the prongs as they will slice right along side the bread. A good fix for this would be for the manufacturer to design a stainless steel sleeve that would go over the prongs. This would obviously need to be removable for cleaning and would also add to the price but for my money, would be well worth the investment. I chose this one over the available plastic ones because it is natural. Stainless would be a good option too but didn't find one made of stainless steel. Overall, very happy with the purchase and would buy it again if need be.

Nice product. I like that the slices can be thin or simply skip a section to make them thicker. My last one didn’t have as thin of a slice option.

You need a strong arm and a 10" bread knife to use this. Too wide and hard to cut a nice slice. I sent back because I do not want wood in my bread slices...
