The Complete Idiot's Guide to Fishing Basics (2nd Edition)

I wanted something to give me some 'basic' knowledge about fishing. I hadn't put a line in the water for over 40 years. I liked it very much. Passed over the saltwater stuff because I won't be ocean fishing, but the fresh water related stuff was right on.I's say I got my money's worth + . Wifey read it too. We're retiring this year and just added fishing to our retirement activities.

I didn't like this book at all. In my opinion, it's not written for a beginner fisherman at all, but someone who's much more accomplished.

This is a great book for quick reference to things new and forgotten. I keep it with me especially when I travel because it is easier to pack than my McLane's Fishing Encyclopedia. I recomend this book to advanced as well as beginner fishermen.

Since I haven't been fishing in over 20 years, this book really does have about everything I needed in it. Sometimes a little too much information for my purposes, but more is better than not enough, right?

Sure helps me! Now if I could just stop the line from tangling when I cast!

I bought this book to give as a gift to a friend interested in starting to go fishing. He loved it.
