Nice radio...
Despite what everyone says about a Chinese radio this one is a Workhorse. I can honestly say the radio to the power output. On high power it's transmitting 70 watts. I do recommend running the radio on low power because the radio will heat up a little. I installed a small aftermarket fan on top of the radio and it really does an excellent job keeping it cool. . I do want to stress that this is an amateur radio and you do need an amateur license. I have hit repeaters easily 75 up to 100 miles away. Programming manually on the radio is very easily..... I read the owner's manual approximately 10 minutes and the understanding of the radio and program it. I would definitely recommend this radio to anybody has great receives and everyone gives me a good audio check they tell me the audio is very clear. Even though the radio looks very similar like the BTECH 5001 it is a different radio on the inside completely different and menu. Make sure if use this radio for a base you need a power supply capable 15 or more amps .....The bese antenna is a comet x50 which is available on Amazon....and I recommend LMR 400 flex coax. .Update. ....have had the radio for 9 months and NO ISSUES at all...... The power & audio are still loud and proud. ....10/13/17....It's been about a year now and the radio is still working fine. ..No issues at all. ...73s......Update 1 year now and radio working better than ever. ....Update 11/10/18 Radio is still working fine and no issues... update July 27th 2020. I've now owner radio for at least four years and no issues and still going strong...11/30/20 Radio is still going and no issues. ....

Doesn’t transmit
The radio is a great example of you get what you pay for. The radio will not transmit on emergency services frequencies. Makes a great HAM radio. Small and light built well. The mic does not come with a mount.

Transmitter failure, high side bands.
Two of three units had bad spectral output on transmission. Amazon will not allow me to post the spectrum analyzer screen capture, but it shows very high side bands across the 2m band and outside the band. Poor QC.In the US, this radio is only legal for transmitting for on amateur radio, 2m band, 144 to 148 MHz. It can be unlocked with free software but is not legal for marine band. It is not FCC part 90 certified for commercial use.

Great radio for 2m use!
I agree with most of the reviews for this rig! It's small and easy to install and shipped with the programming cable and software. If you manually program the radio, it will take a while to figure it out if you've never worked with one like this. (It is similar to other makes.) However, I *highly* recommend plugging this thing into a computer and programming it that way. It makes the radio open up, customization-wise, and makes tedious button pushing unnecessary. One thing that is nice is that the jack to plug in the data/programming cable is intelligently placed right on the front of the unit. Take your notebook computer to your car, plug it in, and you are ready to do your thing. It "clones" in a matter of seconds and then resets and reverts to operation immediately. The scanning feature (default is holding in P3) is NICE... and when you program the channels with the names/call signs, it is super-nice!My only *slight* issue is that the microphone feels very, very light and it just doesn't match the quality of the rest of the unit. However, I've had only minor issues with it... nothing to seriously complain about. For the price, this thing has given me GREAT reports, great distance even in the mountainous area where I live, and I've had a ton of HAMs surprised that it was a TH-9000 that I was working them with. When I changed out the cheap antenna that Amazon bundled with it (you know, one of those "add-on" things where you can "buy together and save"...) for my 2m FireStik, the radio ROCKED!

The item Has poor reception on the radio receiver
The item received in a few days during first week using it the radio reception noted the sensitivity on the radio was dropping. I ran a dynamic receiver test with commercial test equipment it noted that radio reception poor -80 adm after talking to technical Support person opened a claim with the seller. The seller said will have to sent him proof of the radio poor signal reception I tried sending testing results video but it was kick back for bing to large a file. I finally gave up in trying to send it back and decided repair the item myself replacing the preamp part on the radio. The radio has a good transmitter but a poor reception.
