Very sturdy.
A nice, heavy gage, sturdy tool chest. I was surprised to find out how well it was built for the price. Everything works, draws slide freely and are perfectly alined. The lid drawer securing mechanism works like a charm, the lock works fine, and I'm really impressed with the metal carrying handle on top. Most plastic ones seem to break after repeated use. Definitely built for a hefty load of tools. Keep the draw slides lubed now and hen, and this tool box will last a long time.

Gearwrench is exactly what I was looking for.
This toolbox is very solid. Definitely not made of plastic. All of the lower drawers lock into place when closed so you do not have to worry about them opening when moving the box around. It has plenty of space for lots of tools and equipment. The top part is the largest while all the other drawers are a little smaller. The box it comes in is packed well to avoid dings and dents. It is a nice box.

It's better than the thermoformed plastic case that came with your Craftsman tool kit...
The media could not be loaded. I decided to finally combine and sort my scattered tool kit, which was based on an old Craftsman "starter" kit but just kept multiplying and had outgrown the big plastic case that came with my kit. I wanted something that could somewhat organize my kit, keep everything in one place, allow a little room for growth but not so big that I couldn't move it place to place anymore. I went with this GW box because I have a few GW combo and ratcheting wrenches that I've been happy with.1. Country of Origin: Mine came in a box labeled as "Made in China". Some forums claim that GW tool boxes are made in Taiwan - not this one. See photo.2. Top Compartment: There are exactly trays, cantilever or otherwise, in the top compartment. There is simply the large, deep compartment spanning the width of the box. That's it.3. Sturdiness: The "locking" latches are quite a joke. If you're gentle with your kit and don't overload the thing, these may hold up in the long run. If not, they are so loose and so flimsy that a heavier loadout and some rougher handling will tear these things apart in no time. The drawers slide in and out nice and smooth, but the detent at the very back (closing) takes a little more shove than it should to get the drawers to close fully and be able to lock.4. Capacity: holds my old Craftsman kit 200-something piece kit, a bunch of throwaway screwdrivers, impact driver kit, impact sockets, torque wrench, hammer, some big wrenches, breaker bar, odds and ends neatly. If I have to add anymore, I will start having to stack more tools and it'll get messy. Good for a basic home kit, though you'll need a socket organizer.Overall, I'm OK with this box. It's not something I think will last me for many years, but for $70 it will do in a pinch. I fully expect the latches and/or drawer slides to fail in some way during my ownership of this box at the rate I use it (working on my cars and my motorcycle mostly).

Nice box for the money.
Only one I could find with a metal handle at thus price. Not as good as they were 40 years ago but solid. Drawers slide nice and it holds a lot.

Solidly built
The metal is heavy enough gauge that the box is solid. It doesn't flex, even with heavy stuff in it. The drawers slide easily and it is attractive. Seems like a good buy.

Solid little low-cost box to keep in the back of my side x side during trips..
Everything works super smooth, including the locking mechanism; most folks buying this will know why the drawers lock only when the lid is close, and why you can't open them as the lid is close/locked. However, I noticed some funny reviews where people are complaining they can't open the drawers unless the lid is open...clue-phone is ringing!..if you are carrying this thing and the drawers slide open, guess what happens...everything inside goes flying!
