Loved it. Looking forward to the next one.
I devoured this book in one day. I was sneak reading it at work! I loved Adam’s Song and I was hoping Gray For You would be as good. It was. Very unique premise – former porn star and troubled former child star thrown together for emotionally and physically intimate work. I liked both MCs and the secondary characters. I hope Luke’s story is next. I felt like I had plenty of Micah.I think this is the 3rd or 4th Spears book I’ve read where the father is complete crap and the mother is MIA. I detect a theme… Tyler’s dad was too horrible to be believed. I would have liked Gray to stand up to him more on Tyler’s behalf. Spears drew very clear parallels between how Tyler’s dad treated him and how Ethan treated Gray. But Tyler and Gray never seemed to see themselves in each other. I wish they had, so they could have supported each other more effectively.Gray and Tyler’s lack of self-worth was really heavy near the end of the book, and it did get hard/sad to read. They kept beating themselves up, again and again. Their pasts had done a number on them and they both felt broken. But neither looked at the other as broken, which I thought helped give their relationship a light at the end of the tunnel. It was what kept the book from being depressing overall. The Big Reveal with Tyler’s dad was pretty obvious from early on. But at least Spears did it with a throwaway sentence rather than telegraphing it with a neon sign like she did the fire in Strawberry Moon. There was definitely a lot dumped on Tyler at the end of the book. It might have been a bit too much (couldn’t dad have done just one of the BAD THINGS? One would certainly be enough). I felt bad that Tyler had to be so tortured before he found his HEA. I liked that Spears linked seemingly unimportant things from the beginning of the book (the car repair, for example) with plot points that happened near the end of the book. It gave the book a good flow. The sexytimes were super hot.I liked the “book within a book” concept. I liked the POV with 4th wall breaks - speaking to the reader. There are some very schmaltzy passages/dialog near the end. Which is unfortunate as the rest of the book had been pretty much schmaltz-free. But you can’t write something like “I had a sudden image of my body as a violin, being played expertly by Gray, his fingers and lips plucking and strumming sounds and resonances out of me that harmonized into a wash of sensation” without expecting me to throw up a little bit in my mouth. Fortunately, the overwrought passages were few.I liked Gray For You a lot. Good characters, good plot, great sexytimes, very little reliance on overdone tropes (there was only one little coincidental wrong place/wrong time scene), and fresh ideas. The covers for this series are fairly cheesy, though.

Ahhh this was a great love story. It was so sweet and innocent. First real love. Two broken, lost men, finding their homes. Don’t let the length scare you. It was Worth every page. I feel like I miss stories like this. Where you get to live every moment with the character. Nothing is written off page. No time jumps, no being told what happened. Being there for all of it. I want authors to go back to this. I’m guessing money is the reason, but I’m so nostalgic about stories like this. Back to the basic. Plus I love a good famous person story. The writing was great the smexy was freakin HAWT and the side characters we cool.

So many emotions
Every time I read a novel by Spencer Spears I am struck by how much beauty she can put into her words. I had a hard time putting this book down and I only did it because I had to catch my breath. There are so many emotions, so many feelings, that I had to gather my thoughts and do some deep sighs before I could start reading again. I don’t know how many times my heart was broken for these men and put back together again. She is an absolute master of the dialogue. It is lighthearted and serious and so funny. This is another prime example of her writing skills. An ex-porn star and an ex-child actor doing a gay movie together. That could be easily be turned into an erotic story but nothing is further from the truth. Yes, there are some sex scenes that had me fanning myself. But this is so much more. It is an emotional and powerful story of two broken, vulnerable men. Both have a huge capacity to love but are too self-conscious and self-doubting to ever think they could be loved for themselves. They have to see and listen to their heart and deep in their soul to find they are worthy of love.Gray and Tyler are deeply developed characters whom I fell in love with immediately. It is not the author who tells the story. No, it is the men themselves who let you see their struggles and feelings through their inner monologues. It is a long story, I can’t deny that, but you will be hooked. An absolute delight to read and every word is worth savoring. Just one-click this book. It is amazing.

Another Fantastic Read by Spencer Spears
Spencer Spears manages to draw you in, keep you laughing, and make you feel. Gray For You is another spectacular representation of her skill. It is playful, emotional, quirky, sexy, and full of surprises. You can certainly read this as a standalone, but I would definitely recommend getting your hands on the first book of the series, Adam’s Song, because it’s fantastic!I fell in love with Gray in Adam's Song. He has a prevailing sense of strength, humor, and a hint of mystery about him that drew me in right away. His story is unique, but still relatable, with a troubled youth, broken dreams, an emotionally abusive ex, and an award winning career in pornography. Totally relatable, right? He may have no problem dropping his pants to the awe and admiration of his new film crew, but it takes a struggling former child star looking for redemption to tear down the walls he’s spent a lifetime building. And when we finally see the man behind the walls? Breathtaking. And in Tyler, we find someone who is trying so hard to do things right, and who often finds himself falling short of his father’s unhealthy expectations. He’s funny, quirky, determined, and absolutely adorable. I mean, how many young men struggling with their sexuality and history of addiction are willing to go ‘Full Monty’ to prove themselves? Not that he doesn’t have a few issues along the way, but with Gray, his brother Luke, and the entire film crew supporting him, he blossoms and finds his strength.I received a free Advanced Reader Copy for my honest review. And I honestly HIGHLY recommend this book! I couldn’t put it down, except for when I was blushing so hard that I needed to get my heartrate back under control.

cute cute cute cute
This is a good story, there’s a cute love story ❤️, positive representation of sex work, good character development and a great plot. The story was just a bit longer than necessary, but there was no boring part so that was okay.I didn’t knew this author, but I definitely love their work and I’m gonna read the rest of this serie.

I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN
I though Spencer had hit it out of the ball park with Adam's Song, Book one in the series, but let me tell you Gray and Tyler just made my heart ache, and melt and go all squishy all at the same time. This is the kind of story that I absolutely love to read, the characters have so much depth and the way the author manages to tell us their story is truly amazing. Both of the MMs are so broken, but the way to their HEA is a journey of self discovery for each of them. This book is so well written, with well developed characters and a superb story line, I mean who wouldn't love a former child star actor and an ex gay porn star right.....I cant wait to see who's story is next...This for me is a absolute reread book, getting filed away in that special folder on my iPad that not just any book makes it in too.I received an ARC copy of this story and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review...I also bought it as it's that awesome

Unexpectedly wonderful!
I toy I would like this book but it turned out I actually loved it!It was sweet and funny and a little sad. I enjoyed it so much and works definitely re-read. The premise was interesting but this turned out to be even better than I'd expected.I adored Gray so much and I LOVED Tyler. He deserves so much good stuff! Despite the amount of naughtiness in it, this was so much more than just that and despite the kinda controversial story being told within this story it was filled with sweetness and sadness and moments that actually made me almost cry.The story within the story was where I first almost cried. It was naughty but also heartbreakingly beautiful. I loved that story. But then the actual main story between Gray and Tyler ended up having some minor similarities and when one character copied something from the movie into their story and it seemed like there wouldn't be a gappy ending I actually did cry a tiny bit. These two broke my heart but then it got put back together and I really enjoyed it. Gray book need to check out the rest of the series now I think!

Gray For You, Leaving Me Golden
A great 2nd entry into the series, well rounded and beautiful story full of love, laughter, desire, and acceptance. The inclusion of a non-binary character was a welcome addition!

Brilliant
Another fantastic book, I'm absolutely loving this series. Tyler and Gray were such likeable characters and had such clear voices. I really liked how this book progressed and yes don't get me wrong some plot points were predictable but honestly that didn't detract from the story at all. The whole book was very well written, I was hooked from the start, I really do love this author's writing style as it just pulls you in and spits you put only when give reached the end. Super happy these boys got their happily ever after. Looking forward to Luke's story next!
