I bought these to replace the same style of hinges in a backgammon board that had been destroyed by mishandling. They swapped in perfectly. Folks should note that 1/2-inch is 0.028" larger than 12mm. Whether these can work in a specific situation is anyone's guess, but wood working isn't very precise so I didn't even bother checking the old hinges to see if they were metric or imperial.

These were a bit tough to install, you need a 11/32 drill bit to install. The precision screws needed to "tighten" in the hole don't do all that much. I recommend using a scrap piece of wood (use a larger bit so you can get this out without damaging) to test you install before doing your final install. They are tough to line up just right.

I used these for a lid on a 15-sided, multi-tiered jewelry box. It works well enough, but I could only use one because of the shape of the box. Expected it to be more laterally stable and it actually moved all over the place.But it opens and holds the lid ... as long as you don't mind re-aligning the lid so that it's seamless.

Fit is great, but a 12mm bit is very snug and you can’t use the screws to tighten it down or make any adjustments. I used a 31/64” bit that gave me just enough play in the hole for adjusting and able to use the machine screw to snug it in. Just an FYI

this product is exactly as advertised. not heavy duty, but very classy, low &medium duty. installs in a heartbeat and looks (or doesn't look, since they're hidden) cool. a good value. now, i do not know if they give trouble-free service for years-- i just put them in. but i'm happy so far.

These worked perfectly to repair the lid on an old end stand. I couldn't get the old hinges out so drilled next to the old ones and installed the new ones. Work great. DJ

Don’t waste your time with these unless you have a drill press. I can’t tell you how frustrated I was attempting to line up these hinges with a hand drill. I’m not a profesional woodworker, but I’m not horrible either, and I really struggled to attempt install these hinges. You’ve got to have the tools/skills to be ultra precise to be successful in installing... I was not successful.
