Psych 101 by Paul Kleinman is a well put together concise easy to understand collection of the figures, theories, and concepts one is likely to encounter in an introductory psychology course. Most of the chapters average five pages with some that go into a field of studying going a little more. A few of the figures and their accomplishments mentioned in the book are B.F. Skinner, Anna Freud, Stanley Milgram, and Philip Zimbardo. Important topics and key events in the development of psychology such as the purpose of sleep, the Rosenhan Experiment, and the Stanford Prison Experiment, are just a few of the interesting things covered in Kleinman's book.For the lay person who wishes to learn more about the study of the mind and those who shaped our understanding of it I cant think of a better introductory guide. This book satisfied my high level curiosity about psychology. Not wanting to study the subject in detail this book provides a good overview of the major contributors and key themes. It is well structured, initially focusing on a chronology based approach of the key contributors and then discussing the key theories. Worth a read if an overview is what you are after.

I bought it as a fan of Dr. Jordan Peterson. Now I know a little bit more of the vernacular he uses in his classes featured on his YouTube channel

A must read book to cover the basics of Psychology for those hoping to refresh their memory from college psych or those who are new to psych!

As a Psych major I like the size and how easy it is to read. It's a nice source for review of the subject matter.

This book is very well written and contains a wealth of information as well as useful diagrams. I would recommend it for teachers of AS psychology as its descriptions are more accessible for students to those found in more standard texts.
