Great book to start pulling arguments and thoughts from. The concepts and perspectives were easy to follow.

I got this for a family member who is interested in studying philosophy, but had difficulty following my notes and books from college.

Brand new, still in shrink wrap. Cheaper than retail book stores.

Perfect & decently priced. Helped a ton with my undergrad Ethics class this semester. I would highly recommend this book

Just summarizes famous concepts

Really interesting book

I got this book as a reference source to help me remember certain core points of western philosophers (as there are lots of them, obviously). I decided to read it because I feel wrong owning a book I haven't read. I'm not sure I'm going to end up finishing this book. It does act as a reference source, as it literally lists the names of philosophers.. but I find some of his thoughts are completely disagreeable, at least in comparison to what I have studied of philosophy. I don't think I've made it through a chapter without being baffled about his explanations of certain philosophies. (e.g. cynics core value is to seek out and experience happiness??? As a simplification of the philosophy, this is vastly misleading).

Challenging. Had no educational opportunity to to take this subject in school. I find the subject intriguing. It’s a great conversation starter with like-minded folks.

I'm half way thru this - having only got it last week! It is very well written - clear, concise with succinct definitions of major movements in Ethics. A joy to read - heartily recommend it - one of the best on the subjects I have read.

Covers Western thought on ethics, would have been good if Eastern thoughts from India, China and Japan were also included.

This was bought for a student of Ethics and she says that it is very interesting. Delivery was excellent.
