Samsung (MB-ME512GA/AM) 512GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSDXC Evo Select Memory Card with Adapter

I bought the 512GB card because I have been trying to repair/recover the files left on my mom's old external that wouldn't let anyone in. I decided to get an offsite backup of everything on my 5TB external. This is exactly as described and the quality and speed of this SD card is ridiculous! I have seen a few reviews of people getting faulty/fake cards but this one is legit and works like a charm and I get the whole 512GB, guess I've been lucky so far as to buying products on Amazon.

The Samsung 512g EVO micro SD card is a superior product that can be had at a great price. I have been using SD card from another company for ages however when the time had come for me to upgrade to another card for document, presentation, and music and visual storage I decided to go with Samsung and I am happy that I did. The Samsung EVO 512's read and write speed is super fast and the included adapter makes it easy to go from one electronic piece of equipment to another. If you are thinking about buying a micro SD card don't hesitate, go with Samsung!

Just received my 512gb evo select few hours ago and immediately loaded up on h2testw to verify the capacity. Write speed looks right, but there seems to be some data corruption and data lost! (refer to attached photo) How do i get this replaced? Warning: Only 488286 of 488288 MByte tested. The media is likely to be defective. 476.8 GByte OK (999976920 sectors) 16.0 MByte DATA LOST (32808 sectors) Details:0 KByte overwritten (0 sectors) 0 KByte slightly changed (< 8 bit/sector, 0 sectors) 16.0 MByte corrupted (32808 sectors) 0 KByte aliased memory (0 sectors) First error at offset: 0x000000030e1cc000 Expected: 0x000000030e1cc000 Found: 0x0000000000000000 H2testw version 1.3 Writing speed: 75.6 MByte/s Reading speed: 78.2 MByte/s H2testw v1.4 Edit 1 : Arranged a call through amazon support supposedly someone from samsung was supposed to call me from 9am-10am EST no one called. Edit 2 : Amazon Support have sent an express replacement. Edit 3 : The card works perfectly! Amazon support has been exceptional so far! :)

So sadly there are a lot of fake Micro SD cards out there you have to be vigilant about testing them out immediately when they arrive at your door and it may take a few hours if you purchased 500gb cards like I did. Locate H2testw online download the English version not German (unless you read German) 1. Insert card to reader best to have a high speed USB 3.0 reader in a USB 3.0 or higher USB port. 2. Smell & Visual test...no black around edges, only white plastic edge (Check test 1) Print quality (directly on card) better than 2 fake 256gb cards (Check) I was sold a while back from a different vendor which had black edges by the way and failed H2testw. (Check test 2) So far so good. Tab has been punched out on cardboard (passed) (Check test 3) Model code on back looks legit.... MB-ME512G Model Code MB-ME512GA/AM (Check test 4) These new 500's do say Made In Korea Now Hardware Test 3. Inserted new 500Gb card made sure I was selecting the correct drive to test! Mounted 488Gb (you lose some space when formatted this is normal) Started test it wrote 477 files to the drive took about 2 hours. when H2testw has finished your card will be filled with a bunch of just under 1gb test files delete them before you use. PASSED! Thanks to this Vendor nothing more frustrating than getting fake memory cards and having to spend many hours testing then find out you have fakes and have to start all over again.

While there are cheaper options I wanted a reputable manufacturer that had decent read/write speeds since I was treating this as an additional hard drive on my machine. *The packaging is your typical micro SD packaging in minimalist fashion, nothing to report here. *The price is decent but not the lowest, your paying for a reputable brand name with a decent warranty and good performance. *The real world performance is acceptably close to max advertised speeds. *The SD card comes formatted as exfat so be aware if using it in older systems or camera's. You'll need to reformat in fat32 for the older stuff. Real world benchmark day 1: *Moving 110GB of movie files from an internal SSD to the SD card in windows 10 from NTFS to the SD card formated as exfat: Write Speed - 68MB/s to 80MB/s AVG:72.5 MB/s Read Speed - 79MB/s to 88MB/s AVG:85.5 MB/s No data on IOPS until I run synthetic tests. Based on the results the product is definitely acceptable as a storage drive for a laptop or phone with a high end camera that writes quickly.

An external microSD card slot is pretty much a requirement for me with any device I purchase. The extra cost to increase internal storage is usually much higher than the equivalent sized microSD card. I like to carry around a large collection of MP4 movies and music for when I am "offline", and this card is great. The cost is still a bit higher than I was wanting to pay, but at Black Friday pricing I decided it was worth it. I have it loaded over 90% full with my media and all items play perfectly. Load speeds were reasonable, but not significantly different from other cards I have used in the past. One caution to potential shoppers is to confirm your device supports a card of this size. Some lower budget devices may only support 128GB to 256GB cards, so check the manufacturer's website or your owner's manual before you buy. If it is supported, you will be happy with the purchase.

A great Samsung SD card to storage loads of video clips, tons of pictures, and thousands of music downloads, fast read and write speeds, water and dust resistant, comes with the adapter to tranfers files to and from the card, so all in a great reasonably priced product from amazon, and it's not the cheap fake ones like you can buy on other websites, so you get what you pay for. A big thumbs up from me.
