Product Care Instructions | Strawberry Plant Basics Soil: Ideal soil pH is 5.5-6.5. Strawberry plants need well-draining soil. Choose a good quality potting mix that has perlite mixed in. You will then want to add in about 1/3 compost to mix in with your potting soil. This will create a well-draining, nutrient filled soil that your strawberries will love! We recommend to always check your soil's pH. Environment: If your area's daily temp is in the 80s or above you will want to start them in a place that is not in direct sun, such as indoors with a grow light or outdoors on a covered porch. If you are able to start them outdoors right away in the spring then you may place them in your gardening bed or pots, just make sure you mulch them so they may retain moisture when watered., Water: If you are starting them indoors or outside in shade, you may only need to water about twice a week. Once they are outside in full sun, then you will need to adjust your watering to accomadate the direct sun that will cause their soil to dry out at a faster rate. Transplanting Outdoors: Once the plant has grown a few new stems, you may transplant them outside. Usually this will be about two weeks after planting. For the first two days you will want to place them in a shaded area outdoors. These first two days will allow the plant to acclimate to the humidity and temperature of their environment first. And then each day after that you may begin to move them into a little sun and little more each day after that until they are in their permanent home. Be sure to mulch them before starting the transplanting process so their soil may retain the moisture when you water them. |

Beautiful Strawberry Starter Plants
My Albion Everbearing Strawberry Plants arrived yesterday. Beautiful baby Strawberry plants! I actually got 38 plants and all but 1 were very healthy. I followed the instructions on the soil mixture given on the website to the letter. All planted and ready to grow! I have them on a covered patio and move out into the sun for the early morning rays. Then around 10AM put them back in the shade. I'm misting them with a spray bottle so as not to over saturate the roots. Cannot wait to see how they grow.

Some Died
out of 25 plants i had 16 survive. I was thinking it was the way i planted them but it couldnt have been as they were placed in the same raised bed and all treated the same. I look forward to a couple years of harvest hopefully!

Magic Beans
I must say, less than 7 days since they have arrived and these are growing beautifully. These really feel like magic beans (or legumes)With the bare roots you receive, they provide you a website address to visit and business card with a number to call. I went to the website, and the instructions seemed to repeat... so I got my YouTube certification, then reread their instructions, and it made more sense. The next morning I prepared the garden bed by turning over the soil and amending with sand. Now the instructions say to plant indoors for a few days, but there were 35 bare roots (baker’s dozen?) for the 30 advertised. I also put down water permeable weed cloth... poked holes in the cloth to mark where I was going to plant the roots and planted all 35 about 5-6” apart and watered. Set irrigation to water every other day, and all 35 sprung to life overnight. Literally the next AM all the crowns were green and standing straight up, and you could see leaves budding. Today is day 6 and each strawberry plant is between 3-4” high, and have several leaves (4-8 per plant). Will update once I get fruit to provide details on first harvest and taste...
