Mule, The (DVD)

That’s the premise of this movie. This is my second time watching it, and I enjoyed it just as much this time as I did the first time. It visually portrays how we have built-in prejudices that cause us to profile people even when we don’t want to or don’t think we do. Clint Eastwood is wonderful in this movie. It was both funny and poignant.

It's a terrific and vastly entertaining movie inspired by true events. A smart, funny and wonderfully character-driven film that grabs you and keeps you enthralled and moved. Clint Eastwoood gives a riveting and unforgettable performance, he still proves he is a relevant and compelling movie star that has only gotten better with age. He still is an exciting director who knows how to direct the story and his mature cast of actors. Bradley Cooper is terrific. Diane Wiest and Alison Eastwood are excellent.

For the last 2-3 movies where he starred [in addition to directing and producing], the movies have similarities. Obviously Eastwood at his age can only play certain individuals [don't expect him as a gunslinger in a western or that could be interesting].He plays a senior running out of money but wants to pay for his family's costs. So he ends up as a proficient drug mule. He ended up also helping friends and charities with the money that came in. But is eventually caught and pleads guilty.Maybe just me but I found the 5.1 audio to be a bit off.Reminds me a bit of Gran Torino except his character doesn't make it.The extras on the Blu-ray disc is almost non-existent. A 11 minute "making of" and a promo video.

It was an entertaining movie. IMO, not Mr. Eastwood's finest. It's worth the watch if you're a fan. Dianne Weist was an added bonus to the cast.
