He said it is the perfect size for the family
My husband likes this size bag for a lot of different foods. He said it is the perfect size for the family. It isn't too small, where you are wasting a lot of bags and oxygen absorbers, but it isn't so big that you are leaving your food open for a long period of time. He said it is the perfect size for pasta and dry beans. He likes to buy in bulk and store a certain amount of food up, and putting the excess food in Mylar bags, we do not have to worry about bugs, mice or any other little critters trying to get into our food and eating it before we do. Mylar bagging has opened our eyes to a whole new world of storing food. We feel 1) it isn't anymore time consuming, 2) it really doesn't take up anymore space, 3) your food stores for a longer period of time and 4) if you have to move it is a lot easier to pack and store. We found this out when we first was introduced to Mylar bagging from our friends. They were just retiring from the military and they showed us how they had Mylar bagged this food from years ago, how it had been stored in a container and how many times it had been moved, obviously with him being in the military. It was very interesting to see how much food was put in the bags, sealed up and then stored in that air tight container. I looked at that container full of food and thought there is no way that a person could possibly can all of that food in jars and have to move all of the time. I can understand why he and his wife Mylar bagged so much of their food and did not can. Just packing and unpacking the jars every time they moved would be enough to make someone want to Mylar bag, but me worrying about those jars breaking would have made me ill, thinking about all of the time and money I had put into the canning process. Mylar bagging is a wonderful way of food processing. I am trying new ways and new food all of the time with these bags.

Perfect for spices
I am using them to store "emergency" dry goods. Without the ten year test I am saying they are a great product and a great combination. If you are going to heat seal them get a good sealer, or make sure you iron them well enough. I have a cheapy sealer and had to run them a couple times to seal. I don't think it is the bag just the sealer. At least they aren't so thin it burn right through them. My two cents worth.

Great bags, thicker and better then the ones i used to purchase!
Along with the 60 count of the gallon bags, these 80 1 Quart Mylar Bags and Oxygen Absorbers are great! I purchase these every 2-4 weeks and will most definitely continue to purchase them from this company/ seller. They are thicker then I thought which was a great surprise because the food I put in them is sometimes sharp and they never tear or ruin the bags which I love. No wasted money here, well spent money and time goes into these bags and very happy with the outcomes. Thank you.

They are middle of the road thickness and poke holes quite easily
These are ok bags. They are not as thick as the 7.5ml but not real thin like some bags.Wouldn't use for long term storage and will poke holes quite quickly with freeze dried items esp.if you "squish" the bag a bit.
