Q: Can these be freestanding? If so recommendation?

No, although the back is reinforced they are too flimsy to be freestanding

The panel I purchased was one complete panel, it was 6 x 3.

It is painted so outside is good and would look nice as roof accent but not heavy enough for any areas with snow
