Beware
Deceptive advertising picture. Foot pedal is just silver rectangular, without the stylish black molded rounded look as pictured. Bags do not stay in place and as the can is filled, the top of the bag detaches creating a mess inside the can.

Recommend style/design, not from this seller.
Item was dented really bad when it arrived. The packaging was NOT damaged at all. Other reviews also had the same problem, replacement was dented as well, so I just kept it. You can push most of it out, but it still looks dented. Still going to use it. The trash bag is nice and open so you get the most use. Easily pull out the liner so the bag comes out easier than other models. lid closes slowly, how long that will last 🤷‍♀️. Easy wipe off the top and sides. It's the only style I will buy, just highly disappointed with the dents.

Good Looks Dents Easily
I really like the way this trash can looks. I have the oval, 13 gallon, with soft close lid. This can fits in nicely with my stainless steel appliances.Pros:1. Looks: clean look, goes well with todays modern stainless steel appliances2. Soft close lid: when the foot pedal is released, the lid truly does close softly - if not quickly.3. Removable liner: there is a separate, solid plastic liner inside that can be taken out to be cleaned4. Volume: I had a trash can previously that also held 13 gallon trash bags. However, that can would fill up quickly, even though there wasn't a lot of items in it. This trash can seems to really hold a lot more, but I believe it's because the can seems wider.5. No smells: the way the lid is built, there are no real odors that escape.Cons:1. Dents: Once I got the trash can in place, I noticed there was a significant dent that was very obvious on the side of the can. I managed to "bump" it out, but I can still see where the dent was. I'm not sure if this dent occurred during shipping or if I caused it when I removed it from the packaging. Either way, for the price of this I would think the outside shell would be more sturdy. Thankfully, it's just me in the house, but I were to have kids, this would start to show wear sooner than later, I suspect.2. Stainless Steel: Yes, I knew it was stainless steel before I ordered this. And I already have stainless steel appliances. My general complaint with anything stainless steel is the effort it takes to keep it clean and shiny - and this can is no different. It shows every single fingerprint and smudge.jOverall, this trashcan is nice looking and functions as it should. Keeping it clean is a bit involved

Arrived dented, check out Simple Human
This trash can arrived well packed with no signs of abuse to the packaging. The box it came in was lined with styrofoam which should have protected the can. The first thing I noticed about the can was that the lid was very slow to close compared to my Simple Human trash can. The next thing I noticed was that the mechanism to keep the lid up didn't require you to flip a little switch like my Simple Human can, but to just push the lid back and it would stay open. I liked that feature, but I did find that it can be a bit touchy when it comes to getting the lid to go back down. It doesn't always want to disengage from fully open. As I was testing it out to see if I could smudge it with my finger prints (I couldn't), I noticed that the one side of the can had two huge dents out of the box. My husband suggested seeing if we could press on the dents from the inside to get them to pop out. When pressed out, smaller dents next to where the outside of the huge dents are now present. Since I got this as a review product, it is what it is, but had I ordered this and it came like this I would have been shipping it back. After checking out the price of this can and comparing it to the Simple Human cans of similar sizes, I'd suggest looking at their cans instead. I and several of my family members have all had Simple Human cans for a number of years and we're all very happy with them. None of us had any of them arrived dented and even in my busy house with five kids, my can is still dent free and finger print free after nearly five years of use. After looking at some of the other reviews for the Design Trend cans I'm noticing that several other people have also had issues with receiving a dented can. So you may want to think twice before ordering this can.

More Trash, Less Waste
Big families outfit their home to meet their needs. We have benches instead of chairs to fit our kids at the table. We have a four-slice toaster. We have a stand-alone freezer in addition to the combo fridge / freezer unit. We have stackable shoe trays and multiple coat hooks. It only makes sense, then, to have an oversized trash can. Except this 13-gallon receptacle doesn’t hold more than a 13-gallon bag. The can – with its curved front with flat back – allows trash to pile up in the bag before needing to be emptied. We now load 13 gallons of trash in this can versus the 8-10 gallons we probably loaded in our tall, narrow can. We’re filling more trash with less waste (in terms of using fewer garbage bags). I especially like the raised liner (it sets above the exterior casing) which allows you to remove and add a trash bag without having to remove the whole liner. The slow-release lid sets down over this lip trapping odors and securing the bag. We added a Velcro-secured charcoal filter to the underside of the top to absorb any odors.Like other reviewers described, our can was also dented. Not sure if that’s a production, packing, shipping or handling problem. We could have sent it back, but since that side is hidden against the wall, we’re rolling with it. That commonly experienced issue, though, knocks this otherwise fine product down a star.
