Biona Organic Tempeh,Organic Fermented Whole Soya Beans, 6 x 400g

No way of returning food - but it gave me gastrointestinal sickness and diarrhoea. Like others have said I’ve had tempeh before. It tasted ok but made me unwell!

This is the first time I have eaten tempeh so I have nothing to compare it to (apart from tofu) and I really enjoyed it. I prefer it to tofu and its lovely marinaded in olive oil and tamari sauce with a stir fry. Super healthy and very quick to produce.The person moaning about the weight being misleading has too much time on their hands. The jar is crammed full of tempeh and its more than enough for one person to last two or three days. Considering you "only" get 175g of tempeh per jar as opposed to the 400g with water the price is very reasonable.I would recommend.

Love the product but some jars always arrive leaking. That`s the only reason I`ve knocked a star off.

Let me start by saying that I was a Biona regular, having been buying both the 6xTempeh and 6xTofu hard (or more) monthly for years. Unfortunately the quality degraded by a lot from the last couple of months.These are now absolutely vile. It tastes rancid and musty. The colour of the water is much darker than it used to be. The smell from the jar is really bad too. I had to throw the rest of the 5 jars into the bin. As of 1 Oct 2022 I stopped consuming this tempeh as I cannot stand the bad taste.I also had the occasionally leak with the delivery as other commenters here, but Amazon was always great in refunding.Just hope Biona reads this and goes back to the old quality where the water is clear and not turbid like you see in the photo. Maybe then I will give it another chance.

Amazon is the perfect place for making purchases of this particular Tempeh, good prices & long shelf life of product too. By the way, because Tempeh is pickled in unsalted water within a glass jar, you don't experience the horrible taste of ammonia, as with fresh Tempeh !

Tempeh is a delicious and nutritious product which can be prepared in a variety of ways (frying works well for me). However, it should be a simple point of logic that if you pack 6 heavy jars containing liquid tight up against each other with no padding between them, and only one layer of bubblewrap surrounding the whole package, something is bound to go horribly wrong. Twice I ordered the six-pack of jars, and twice it arrived with half the jars shattered, glass fragments contaminating the product and liquid spilling everywhere. I'm astonished that the company didn't learn something from the first situation and get their product appropriately protected to withstand the rigours of transport. This will also apply to their jars containing tofu, by the way - buyer beware.

Great taste and is a good substitute in foods! This was very flavoursome and is great for the price as I've found it hard to find this in the usual shops! I will definitely buy again!

bought it previously few times. the tempeh itself is good, no problem with it ... but when i got this this time, 3 jars were opened and leaking! it looks like the biona changed the jars (which feel cheaper) that is why it leaked... i think!
