It works for me
I have used it for 10 days and I have noticed a big reduction in my appetite. I get fuller faster and I notice I have even slowed down my rapid eating habit. I am pleased at the results. I recommend it fully but it does take commitment to use it daily.

SCAM
The Modius Devic I have now was a replacement of another that looked used. The seal was not sealed the second time either. I made the sad mistake of keeping it because it looked brand new. Aside from that, I used it for over 2 months, nightly, except for 4 random nights. None of the supposed benefits occurred. Sleep did not improve, nor did my cravings wane enough to help keep the weight off. I fluctuated so much that from Feb 18-Apr 14, I ended up only losing just over 1 pound. I found out not only will Amazon not let me return it, MODIUS WILL NOT EITHER BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT FROM AMAZON AND NOT DIRECTLY. THROWING MINE INTHE TRASH. $500 wasted.

Happy so far
I have low thyroid so I know it's going to be slow but I will get there eventually. My appetite is better already. Thank you.

Might not work for you
I bought this directly from modius. I used it for about 4 months. Sadly it did not work for me. I gained about 5 pounds, so that is why I stopped using it.

$200 return shipping fee
I bought this for supposed vague nerve stimulation recommended by Niki Gratrix. Noticed no difference, so I decided to return it. What they don’t tell you is you have to ship to Ireland with shipping confirmation which cost me $199 from CA. Out $200 for nothing.

Does it work? I think it does!
First of all, a caveat: I bought this device direct from Neurovalens before they started selling it on Amazon. I am NOT being compensated in any way from anyone for providing this review. It started one morning in April when I weighed myself and realized I was over 300 lbs. I felt like crap and looked the same. According to my Dr I was flirting with type2 diabetes. I, Spartacus, have always been a big person. Even throughout my military career I've always been one of those trying to stay within weight standards to avoid the weight management program and the slow administrative driven death of your career that goes along with it. Because of this, I've tried (unsuccessfully) every fad diet and weight loss method known to man. I tried eating less and exercising more. I would gain weight from the added muscle, but because the military wants you to lose weight immediately, I'd abandon this and then I'd lose the muscle and eventually be more fat. I tried Atkins and lost about 25 lbs in 3 months, then hit a wall for weight loss for 2 months. My cholesterol levels got high enough the military Dr put me on statin medication. I gave up, and gained it all back plus some more - within 2 weeks. I've tried juices, soups, shakes, salads, South Beach, Lean Cuisine, and Healthy Choice. I even entertained the idea of Nutrisystem just because I still have a crush on Marie Osmond... But I'm digressing. The bottom line is these would all work initially, but as soon as I stopped, the weight would come back plus a little more. And just in case you're wondering, I've either swam at least a mile or walked at least 2 miles 3 - 5 times a week for the past 3 years. And that morning in April, I'd re-committed to eating sensibly. No more Atkins or any other crazy stuff. So, there I was that morning... 308 lbs and the doc is telling me the rest of my life could be miserable and much shorter than I was hoping for. My BMR was wrecked, and my body and I had taken on an adversarial relationship. I made a vow to take action. Around this time, I saw a short little "blurb" story about neural stimulation and weight loss on the local morning news. I'm naturally skeptical, but it was a slow day at work, so I dug around the interwebs in an effort to disprove the claims. I found a few gadget sites with writers who never tried it and didn't need to lose weight who scoffed at it. Then I found the actual NASA study one of the founders of Neurovalens had based his research from. Like I said, it was a slow day at work, so I read the whole report. It's long, dry and technical. The effect of weight loss is just a side note because it had nothing to do with why they were mucking about with vestibular nerve stimulation at the time. Then I see where this guy had built his own device then tried it on himself and his friends. Now remember, by this point I was seriously considering liposuction or some other expensive mechanical intervention. My thinking was, "Why Not? If it does work, it's much less risky and expensive than lipo, and if it doesn't work, they have a 90 day money back guarantee - I can't lose!" Cost/Risk/Rewards analysis complete, I ordered one from Neurovalens and received it (from Ireland) in early May.My experience so far:I've used my headset almost everyday. the only times I've missed was when I've run out of pads, or didn't find time to use it. I did leave it behind when I went on vacation for 2 weeks. That is the biggest gap. When you first put it on and start a session, you sometimes feel the shock from the pads. Not painful, more like a pinch. It also feels a little like you're on a boat at the start. The effect wears off in a minute or two. Walking around with it on can be entertaining... Do not attempt to drive or ride a bike with it on and operating. The Android app I use for it works well. I really like the feature where you can chart your weight. The effects are subtle and slow acting. You will not go to sleep with it on and wake up the next day looking like Chris Hemsworth.I'm about 85% convinced it works. Here's why:For the first time in eight years, I'm under 270 lbs. That milestone happened yesterday. I haven't changed my eating or exercise habits from before I started using the device. However, for the sake of truth in my reviews, I will say I did abandon all the fad dieting and go back to eating sensibly just one month prior to starting to use the device.I sprained my ankle pretty bad in September and had to take a few weeks off from exercising and I was still losing weight - just a little more slowly. I left my head set behind when I was on vacation... I ate schnitzel and pizza and drank beer for 2 weeks (Hey! It's VACATION!). I came back to find I'd only gained 3 pounds. In the past it"s been a lot more. Finally, I just got through the holidays, gone through a cold and some family issues. All occasions where someone is inclined to seek comfort through food (I did), and I'm still losing weight.I bought this fully expecting to get my money back in 90 days. But now I don't think I'd sell it if offered more than what I paid. That says a lot considering I'm normally a huge skeptic of things like this.

No real effect
I tried many devices as mind machines and software. Some are better and some are ineffective.Modius didn't help me to sleep better or longer. Not sure whether it can do anything. Not worth consideration.Melatonin pills still do the trick (I don't recommend pills, before all other remedies are tried).Sleep well.
