Acoustic Foam 2-1/2" x 12" x 12" 2 Pieces UL 94

It's thick, the information about the product seemed good, but once I put it together, it made no difference in the sound level. I actually made a box with the foam inside. I placed my mic inside, recorded for a minute and during that time had a fixed level sound broadcasting about 10' away. Did the same without the foam surrounding the mic. The levels were the same. Sorry, but I won't buy any more of this foam. I did this to try it out.

I bought this foam to use as a riser for my home theater subwoofer. I basically just needed a buffer between the down-firing driver and my hardwood floor so that my downstairs neighbors wouldn't be bothered by the sound. I have no idea how well it works compared to other foams but there were three things I really liked about this product:1. The dimpled sides of each piece nest perfectly within each-other. So instead of two separate 2.5"-thick squares I'm using them as a single 5"-thick block.2. By placing a  Polycarbonate Sheet - .25" Thick, Clear, 12" x 12" - Pick: Thickness, Size  between the subwoofer and the foam, the foam is dense enough to support the weight of the subwoofer (about 7lbs) without adding any additional structure.3. Best price for acoustic foam, or even just plain black foam for that matter.This saved me from spending $40-50 on a factory made riser, which in my case would have been an oversized overkill.

Not as described... Doesn't look anything like the picture, it's basically just ONE FOAM. Doesn't contain two pieces as titled. Too lazy to refund it over $15, but hopefully this saves someone else from being ripped off.

I purchased this to put in front of both the Auralex Gramma and Auralex AmpDude I have my bass unit for my home theater system. I live on the 2nd floor and this item helps to prevent the bass from going into the apartment below. The item is quality made and I expect it to last a long time.

These pieces of foam cured a lot of the resonance that occurred from speakers setting within a TV cabinet. After cutting them to size and installing them, there was a definite improvement in the sound quality from the cabinet.
