SPLIT!👿👿😆😆 I love love love love love 😍 this book so much but a few things made me just a little peeved😒....
For readers out there I would suggest this book to anyone who loves action, fantasy, and romance. This book has a sense of mystery as well. It has a great story line and if you haven't already, start at the beginning with hush hush. You will be more than surprised and great fun youo read it if you love any of those caregories of books listed above. This book will drive you over the edge with its suspenseful cliff hangers and its gravitating pull to want to read more. I highly suggest any teen or young adult to read this book. BEWARE IF YOU READ FROM HERE ON AND HAVE NOT READ THE PREVIOUS BOOKS OR THIS ONE THERE ARE SPOILERS!!!!! DO NOT READ ON IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO HAVE SOME OF THE PARTS IN THIS BOOK RUINED! This book was very thrilling and enticing. Not only did the author inform you more on the way the world that patch lived in, it also helped you see a different side of the story which in turn allows you to form your own side and opinion. In the first two books I still felt like I had little understanding of how things work in Patch's world. This third book not only brought a new light to their situation but helped me get a better grip about how things happen in the past books. It helped me establish a better spot as a reader because I knew more and felt like I could better understand and feel want the characters were going through. I was also pleased with how Patch become more clear about what he felt. In the first books Patch was hesitant to say he loved her for valid reasons even when it was clearly obvious. So it was refreshing to see his character say and do anything for Nora. It was also reassuring as well throughout the book that Nora had Patch and that he was so protective of Nora. I think his character was more stable because of her. I found that it was more alluring for the overall makeup of his character and that it helped me as a reader be reassured throughout the book that Nora would find a way through this. Although the book was good there were still a few things that made me disappointed and peeved. In a small way I feel as the memory loss for Nora impacted her character for a longer period of time than necessary. She lost her sarcastic kind of witty edge as well as her strong moral compass that somehow faltered when it came to Patch and the Nephilim. I also found that when she was regaining her memory from everyone else, there were a few left out part of the book that seemed almost necessary for Nora to understand. In this book I felt Nora went through a lot of turmoil and drama that both heightened the readers need to read a more and made the reader feel and go through what the characters in the book were. Nora was witty and had a moral compass that told her something was wrong. She hated how she was going against it but still had that feeling that she loved it. This side of Nora was so realistic because I know I feel like that a lot and it speaks to true to many instances in any personas daily life. But in this book, her logic and moral compass seemed more blurred and throughout the book I felt as if Nora wasn't Nora. I found that even when she was filled in on the majority of what she missed in those five months, she still had more belief for the Nephil. Which don't get me wrong I would too, but she seemed more lenient to how the fallen angels took over the Nephilim's bodies in the first books. Therefore I believe her view changed because of a washed away me more and some key facts that I felt were left out. As mentioned above, I believe some key parts were left out of the book. This would include the fact that more people would die if the fallen angels didn't possess the Nephil and reverted to humans. Nora's understanding of that I feel was key to her split but firm like belief that the way things were between the fallen angels and Nephil should stay, because while it seemed like a wrong situation it wad better than the alternative. Overall, there were a few things that slightly annoyed me but I did find this book very good and as said in the first paragraph, would recommend this book to any reader who loves action, mystery, romance, and fantasy/fiction.

Some fantastic news! I didn't have to rage finish this ...
Some fantastic news! I didn't have to rage finish this book in one sitting for fear of never picking it up again the way I did with Crescendo. That book was the most insipid, obnoxious piece of crap and it took all my strength not to chuck my kindle against a wall at the time. While Silence was not amazing, I never felt like breaking previous pieces of electronics so BRAVO MS. FITZPATRICK! This is an incredible feat as I was left just assuming this series was an utter waste of my time. But I'm a glutton for punishment so I came back for more.Amnesia, as it turns out, did wonders for Nora! I mean, it was no miracle: she's still one of the more bland leads I've read. But she was markedly less annoying in this book! Her frustration over being unable to remember the last handful of months brought out a feistier Nora than I've ever seen. I guess she's been fairly feisty in the other books but the difference here was that I supported her snark this time around. I loved her anger and her quippiness. As it would be, Patch, under his name as Jev was also highly more interesting than he has been. Maybe it's because he didn't stand there smugly trying to push Noras buttons while kinda wanting to kill her in book one or brooding because Nora was an insecure mess in book two. So I actually felt like he had a semblance of a personality here!Sure, Patch and Nora are still this ridiculous insta-love where he's the scowly bad guy and she leaves you wondering what exactly is so enthralling about her to cause all this fuss, and yet they're intangibly and inexplicably drawn to one another because their bond and love is so freaking strong, so it's not the most captivating of stories. In truth, I prefer the spark between Nora and Scott. But the plot in this book was more interesting than the last two. I actually felt like it was a story that might be going somewhere rather than just Nora whining like it's felt the past two books were comprised of. So all in all I was pleasantly surprised.

Good book
At first glance, Silence had me annoyed. Was it really necessary to erase Nora's mind to move the story along? Was it really going to make for an interesting novel when I already knew everything Nora forgot? Was this just going to be a gimmick to get readers from the second novel to the fourth? Was the amnesia really needed? Yes. Nora had learned too much in the first two novels, meaning a lot of what she had to relearn and go through in Silence wouldn't have happened. It made her more vulnerable, which is exactly what was needed to set up the ending of the novel. It makes Nora come across as a little weaker than in the previous two novels; however, I don't see it completely that way. She fights back to regain her memory, all the while fighting against forces she can't help but get wrapped up in.Was the recapping out of control? Not really. Fitzpatrick didn't spend half the novel condensing the first two novels; rather she left most of it untouched, only reintroducing information when it was necessary. It was never information heavy and when things were brought up that I already knew and Nora didn't, Fitzpatrick didn't draw it out.Was this just a filler novel? Not even a little bit. Yes, it was set up for the final book, but it was also its own story. It had Nora growing as a character and Patch coming to terms with his decisions, as well as finding a way to move past them and create the future he wants. Yes, it was set up for the fourth novel, but it was also its own interesting story.Silence didn't wow me quite as much as Hush, Hush and Crescendo did, but it was still a fantastic novel and I can't wait to see how Nora and Patch's story ends.

Enjoyed reading again
I purchased this series in paperback or hard back from Waterstone when it was first released, but had to wait a while in between. Since then I find myself to have become quite attached to my Kindle and have purchased the Kindle version. The beauty of it all is that I have been able to read them without a break in between. After so many years later, I find myself reading them with a different perspective. I know that it's the same story, but views change with time and now I find some of the characters irritating. I didn't enjoy reading them any less though. I didn't express my thoughts the first time round as life was different and finding time wasn't so easy. With Nora's "amnesia comes a whole lot of confusion. Missing a good chunk of her memory is very unsettling, and to top that she is lied to. Some go to great lengths to keep the missing part hidden. Patch made a deal in exchange for her life and that deal has cost him too. No matter how strongly he feels about her, he has to keep away from her, until he discovers that the one who made the deal didn't keep his end of the bargain. Now, all bets are off. This part of the story is riddled with lies, deceit and mind control. Nothing is as it seems, but Patch and Nora find their way back to each other and their love is stronger than ever. Will their love be enough to save them from the clutch of the evil plot that's been imposed on them? There are quite a few twists throughout the story. The romance is what to be expected from a YA novel and the storyline itself is compelling.

Much Better!! Reviewed by Ali @ wingedreviews.com
This one was sat on my shelf for nearly 8 months before I picked it up! My hesitation? Crescendo. I was not a fan of Crescendo. It didn't have the same originality as Hush Hush, there was the dreaded YA love triangle and the storyline just made me so frustrated. So imagine my delight when I finally did start reading Silence and found that it was a million percent better than Crescendo! The story was better rounded, we had new mysteries and plots and characters thrown into the mix and the steamy Patch and Nora relationship was back on track! Silence was really great!I must admit, I did spend the first few chapters being slightly confused though. As it had been sooooo long since I read Crescendo, I couldn't quite remember all the finer details and characters and didn't really know what was going off for a little while. But Becca has this excellent way of interjecting tid bits of background and information as the story goes along and so within no time, I felt up to speed on the happenings of Crescendo.Crescendo of course ended on one of the biggest, most shocking and cruel cliff hangers I've ever read and so it was good to find out `what happened next' so to speak, although it wasn't all laid out on a plate for us. We discover that Nora has had her memory wiped and doesn't actually remember what happened at the end of Crescendo or indeed for 4 months prior to that. The first half of the book she spends most of her time piecing back together her memories, along with the help of Scott and eventually, Patch. (This also helped with my own forgetfulness of what happened previously!)I didn't like Scott in Crescendo, but in Silence, he seems to have grown up a lot. After spending the summer on the run and hiding from `The Black Hand' he comes to Nora's aid to help discover what happened to her and I really enjoyed the chapters that he was in. Don't get me wrong, I'm team Patch all the way, and so is Nora! But Scott is a rather funny and light-hearted character and his interaction with Nora was one of my favourite aspects of Silence. And then there's Patch **dreamy sigh**. Patch was one of my first ever YA book boyfriend crushes and after Silence, I can safely say that he has definitely reaffirmed his place high up on my list. There really is nothing better than the ultimate bad boy. He was on fine form in Silence! So if, like me, you are a little reluctant to pick this one up because of the less than satisfactory second book, then I highly recommend that you absolutely DO pick it up. It does not disappoint. A very well deserved 4 stars!

I think it was the best one yet!
I am a twilight fan and wanted another paranormal romance to read. These series are not as good compared to twilight however they are a good series in their own right. I am a bit older than a teenager (im 22) for which they are for but i didnt feel i was too young for the series. The books are quite dark and have violence in them however it has a light hearted side to them as well.I wasn't overly keen on the second book in the series as I felt it lacked romance and was very dark.....This book however was the right balance of romance and action without being sloshy. The first bit of the book Nora has lost her memory but it isnt annoying and it doesn't drag on, she figures things out very quickly and its a nice additionIf you enjoyed the rest of the series then you should defiantly get this one! Its action packed and explains all the mystery from the other two books. This isnt the last so its left on a bit of a cliff hanger but not an overly annoying one. (i find them annoying when they leave on a hanger and the next book isn't out)If you find this review helpful please click "was this review helpful" underneath this review :)

Wow. Simply brilliant :)
Nora wakes up in a cemetery in the middle of the night, with no idea how she got there and no memory of the last five months. Somehow it is September and she can't remember anything after April. Her world has moved on without her, and Nora struggles to recover her memories as she is haunted by black eyes and a mysterious boy whose absence has left a hole in her heart. But amnesia doesn't last forever and Nora's about to learn there are some who will kill to keep her in the dark. This is the third book in the amazing Hush, Hush series (after Hush, Hush and Crescendo ) and picks up three months after the last one finished. I had no idea of the direction this book would take, and even after Crescendo's cliffhanger I definitely wasn't expecting this. The plot is brilliantly developed and is full of twists and turns that keep you turning the pages to find out what will happen next. The tension is kept high from the start as readers of the previous books know who kidnapped Nora and she has no idea, so we get to see her cluelessly interact with her kidnapper. Nora's struggle to find out the truth leads her on some risky paths and that too adds to the tension.Patch is incredible in this book! I liked him in the previous books, but it was this book in which he stole my heart. It's hard to go into without adding spoilers but he is brilliant. Vee is a much changed character. Her past experiences means she has developed an anti-boy streak but she still adds a sense of fun to the book which is much needed while Nora's amnesia is in full swing. The ending is cleverly done, creating a lead in to the next book and changing the balance between Patch and Nora forever. There is going to be a fourth and final book due out approximately October 2012 (confirmed by Becca at a signing) which will be set during Cheshvan. All in all this was an incredible read and I can't wait for the next book!Plot: 10/10Characters: 10/10Ending: 10/10Enjoyment: 10/10Cover: 9/10Overall: 49/50 Hush, HushCrescendo

Silence-thrid book of Hush Hush series
This is the third book in the Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick and I've been anticipating this to come out for months. It picks up right after the big cliff-hanger at the end of book 2. After she's gone missing for 3 months, Nora finds herself back in Coldwater. She has no recollection of what has happened to her in the last five months. As she slowly gets back to her normal life, clues from her past starts to resurface which she cannot understand. Before she can figure this all out, she finds herself in the middle of a war between fallen angels and nephilim and her enemy is closer than she expects. Before giving my opinion, I have some friendly reminder to fellow readers. First of all, it will definitely help to read the first two books before reading this to fresh your memory. Secondly, for those Patch/Jev fans, you have to be patient as Patch-Nora interaction does not appear until about Chapter 10-11(about 1/3) of the book. It was an incredible read with a lot happening and it did not fail in capturing my attention all the way through. At the end of book 2, we find out who the "Black Hand" is and you may suspect if Becca would literally continue with the incident at the shed but you get something different, putting a lot of suspense in the story. Personally, I have to admit I was quite frustrated when reading the first few chapters with Nora having no idea what's going on due to her amnesia. It felt like the characters are being put into an alternative reality and no one remembers Patch or Rixon. And through her childhood friend Scott, Nora finds out some of her past, along with her own work and instincts. This is the reason for my second reminder. You have to be patient and give the girl to work things out. However, after Nora meeting Jev again, the roller coaster ride begins and the pace of the story starts to pick up. We have a fair proportion of fallen angels and nephil encounters and it's packed with lots of action.By this book, I am sure all readers are very familiar with the powers of both fallen angels and nephil. I like the way the author develops further on the "invading dreams" ability, which we have not seen a lot so far. In book 2, we saw Patch using it to reveal the past to Nora but in this book, it becomes their main channel of communication. This book is also full of magical items mentioned in previous books such as the Black Hand ring, the archangel necklace. You can definitely see the similarity between the "Black Hand ring" and "the ring" in Lord of the Rings with both giving powers to the owner and also get him/her addicted. I also like the idea of the black feather from the angel's wings. As for characters, it's good to see Scott taking a more central role in the story and it's fun to have around. The only disappointment I have is with Vee. It feels like we see more Marcie than Vee in this book. While it's good to see a different side of Marcie, I still prefer to see more of Vee. I enjoyed reading her conversations with Nora in previous books and there is not enough of their girly time together in this book. Let me move on to the main characters. As I have said, you need to be patient and you will be rewarded or even spoiled with quite a few good Nora-Patch moment, including an introduction to Patch's studio- I am sure black silk sheets can be very comfortable!!! In this book they work more like a team and putting full trust into each other which is good. I also like the way the author makes use of the names Jev and Patch to show the status of their relationship-Jev represents not being together while Patch represent them being together.Towards the end of the story with Patch explaining his deal with the archangels, the author takes us back to the events in the very first book. I have to say the writing and layout of the plot is very clever in this book and also for the whole series and Becca has again surprised me. The storylines from previous books are coming together nicely in this third instalment, like pieces of puzzle coming together in a picture. And hence it's worth reading the previous books before starting with this one.Nora is now pureblood Nephil and leader of the Nephil Blood Society which will cause a lot of tension between her and Patch. As a personal speculation for the next and last book in the series, I would not be too surprised if Scott takes up the role of second-in-command for Nora or some sort. On the other hand, we have seen fallen angels and nephilim and the missing variable now is the archangels. I can't wait for the next book to come out!!
