These shark magnetics are great for more than just a keychain. The magnet is very strong, stays connected, and hold more than it looks like it would. UPDATED Review for dog leash: I've been using this not as a keychain for the reasons stated below, but rather as a way to attach a small flashlight (shout-out to RovyVon lights) to my dogs leash. Nothing on the leash is magnetic so the light/keychain just dangles. Magnet is strong enough I know it's not coming loose on it's own and when I need to use it it pops right off from the leash. Light/keychain combo is small enough to keep it attached all the time, and when I need to charge the light, it pops off easily enough. Been using it this way for several months if not a year or more.Old Review for keys: If you use this as a quick disconnect for your keys, it's going to stick to everything metallic in your pocket (duh), unless you've got all aluminum keys/keyrings. For me that meant my keys were folded over in weird ways onto themselves and poked me, instead of how they naturally lay in the pocket. And then you have to separate the keys (unfold/untangle) from the magnet to use.As for the product itself, it looks great and the magnet is pretty strong, as I'm sure others have pointed out. Quality seems to be pretty high, but I stopped using it after a month, so I can't really comment on longevity.Perhaps a weaker magnet would be more ideal, but you have to weigh that against how strong of a connection you want when you go to separate your keys (if you use it that way).

Very strong magnet. Iv seen some that have a plastic outer shell, and I think they work a little better. This one seems to want to be magnetized to everything around it. The outer plastic shell on some of them keep that from happening. Other than that, it is a very strong little magnet that works great for me

Got this to attach my keys to my bag. I wanted something strong enough I would never knock my keys off - sometimes I need 2 hands. Really strong and really small.

The biner is useless -- you need to find a suitable belt clip. My first application was to keep by keys on my belt, but the magnet was so strong, I was concerned I would break my key ring trying to release the magnet. To solve the problem, I shrunk a piece of heat shrink tubing such that it wrapped slightly over the joining end of one of the magnets. That reduced the holding force to the desired level. It works great except for when the keys are away from the release and the magnet grabs my pocketknife.Another application was to hold a Gulpy dog water dispenser to a belt clip on my belt. It is excellent for that application.

First of all, I like the variety of color choices because these aren't just for men or just to be used for fishing. I purchased one to become a part of my keychain. My mail boxes are a block away from my home and when I stop to get out of the car to get my mail, I didn't want to turn my car off or fumble with a carabiner clip to remove my mailbox key. This magnet was the perfect solution to getting the keys off quickly. However, don't think for a minute that it's not secure because it is. My keys won't separate in my pocket or hanging up. The magnet is very strong and there is a technic for getting it apart which takes a second to learn. I highly recommend this keychain addition and if you think about it.... You'll find a lot of uses for it, like attaching a medication fob to your purse for a quick access to your meds. Attach an ice scraper to one of these so you're not always searching for it in your car. It's endless.

I didn't buy this for fly fishing but to have a magnetic removable item attached to my belt. This does the job perfectly and is built very well, I don't think this will ever break. The one caution is that the magnet is shockingly strong, so be careful not to pinch yourself when attaching the magnet back. If the item attached to it is not as durable then you should pull via the magnet body/ring instead of the item.

強過ぎず弱過ぎずイイ商品です

家の鍵を取り付けて、車の鍵とかと一纏めにしてカラビナでベルト通しに括り付けて活用。その前も強力磁石と名の付く物を使っていたが、何故か外れて探す羽目になっていた。なくさない為の磁石で、まさかの保険の鈴が必要とは。外れる原因。くっつける際に衣類を挿むからと推測している。これは本当に強力。女性では相当苦労すると思う。だがそこがいい。本当に１度付けたら外れない、今の所。くっつける際もガッチリ合わさるから衣類を挟み込む心配すらない。素材もそうだが、卵型の形状がいいのも知れない。軽いし。塗装が剥がれる心配も皆無。見た目もgood欠点はというと。カラビナはチタンのいい物に買い換えを推奨する。根本が壊れた事で紛失とか、本末転倒。あれはオマケ。いい買い物をした。
