Premium Wheeled Magnifier Floor Lamp - Strong 5-Diopter Magnifcation

This rolling floor lamp arrived quickly, was easy to put together, and works well. The lamp was already attached to the moving arm, and I assembled the rolling floor section, and the arm to the base. The arm stays where you put it, and the base rolls smoothly. At first it seemed like it was difficult to get the base together, but I realized I wasn't assembling it properly. It seems like it only goes together one way. There wasn't much assembly required. As a whole, the lamp is sturdy, and the base is heavy and solid.

I have looked online at many of these lamps and this one seemed to be the best combination of price and quality. This turned out to be true. The order arrived speedily and the packaging was adequate - nothing arrived broken. It is well-made - no problem with broken casters or the like. It is a bit heavy, but that will stop it from tipping over, and I don't think my 87-year-old mother is going to be pushing it around a lot. Best of all, it has helped her to read the newspaper and all the other things that gave her enjoyment again. Highly recommended.

I purchased this lamp to wheel around between my sewing room and the chair where I do hand work. I already had a magnifying lamp on a clamp that was fine but trouble to move around. Because the wheels do not rotate (cheap plastic on a metal body) I was better off keeping what I had. It is clumsy to move ( the metal base twirls around while moving instead of the wheels moving), likes to tip over and like I said, the wheels are stuck. I have tried everything to loosen them up. Nothing works to free those cheapo wheels. My advice, do not buy it. Get a clamp on instead. Oh, and did I mention that the wheels don't move?

I purchased this lamp for my mother, who has problems with her vision. It turned out to be the perfect lamp for her. It is constructed very well and also functions as described. It provides enough magnification and light to allow her to read her favorite books, knit, etc. (which she had difficulty doing prior to receiving this lamp.) I comparison shopped for similar lamps and this turned out to be a great deal when taking into consideration the quality of the lamp. Not only is my mother thrilled with this purchase, but so am I.

The lamp/magnifier is exactly as presented. It works very well and is quite sturdy for the long hall. The price through Jack's Tools was very competitive. I paid for expedited shipping and it showed up more than a week later. Very disappointing. I should have been reimbursed when it didn't show up on time.

I really like the lamp itself but one week after using it one of the castors broke. I set it beside a chair and moved it very little. Really didn't think that should have happened. Went to the hardware and bought another castor. Other than that it works great for counted cross stitch.

I have macular degeneration and was hoping to have a lighted magnifier that I could read by. However, the 8-diopter gives only about a 2-2 1/2 inch space in the middle of the magnifier that is useful, the rest of the area is distorted. I assumed that the entire 5 inches would be 8-dioopter but it is not. It was too expensive to return the lamp since 25% is charged by the company and it cost nearly $30 to return it. I will us the light but can only use the magnifier for very small things. The 5-diopter would be better but I'm not sure how it would work out.

A good deal for the price. Pretty stable, but tips on occasion. I would give it a higher rating but the bulb went on it with in 3 weeks and the replacement bulbs, 22w 110v, cost $30 to replace. 60v is fine if you don't live in U.S.
