Bob's Red Mill Organic Flaxseed Meal is a reliable product. Their organic products are healthy choices, and the price is about what you'd expect. I add this to large steel cut oat batches to make a week's worth of oatmeal. Flaxseed is good to have as part of a daily diet, due to its Omega-3 fatty acids, fiber and protein. If you use enough over the weeks to need this quantity, you can't go wrong with Bob's Red Mill.

Looks and tastes like ground seeds, not like sawdust. I use it in my yogurt for texture and for making keto breads. It has a similar effect to bran, but without the carbs, and with more crunch. MUCH better than Whole Foods brand.

When we lived in Oregon, my family made regular trips out the Clackamas to visit the original Bob's location and get freshly milled goodies for great prices. So glad to find their products are now sold on Amazon and in stores. The golden milled flaxseed is the best: always fresh, but the golden color, for some reason, tastes better than the darker varieties Bob's and other places sell. I can't think of a better way to get my Omega 3s than 2T of this goodness in my oatmeal or smoothie. But don't let either of them sit too long... ground flax seed gels in liquid. Great egg replacement for baking, but not so great for smoothies.

We buy Bob's Red Mill ground flaxseed with 4 bags to a box on subscribe and save because we use it daily. It looks and smells fresh. To keep it that way, we keep opened bags in the freezer after pouring some out into a glass jar where it's refrigerated for more convenient access. You could of course just always keep it in the freezer to preserve the Omega 3 oils. The ground flaxseed is also high in fiber. We buy a lot of supplements, and a pet peeve is bags that are difficult to deal with or zippers that don't function. These bags are easy to use and zip closed. Small thing but so appreciated.

I have always bought the whole flax seeds and then grind them in the blender before I use them so that they can be digested better. I make fiber cake and use chia seeds and flax seeds in it and thought that if I just bought some of the meal, it would save me from having to grind it up each time. I put the opened bag into a jar and keep it in the refrigerator to keep it fresh, and it is perfect for adding to anything that I am baking and want flax meal in. I like the Bob’s Red Mill products because they are all organic and stone ground grains, so I believe that they are very healthy and worth paying a little extra for.

I used to purchase this regularly because of the many health benefits flaxseed offers. The quality was always good, and it was a staple in my smoothies and tea. Unfortunately, the price has increased so much that it feels unreasonably inflated, making it difficult to justify continuing to buy it, despite its nutritional value.
