Awful, unless you like brown sponges
The sponges turn brown in the first day. Well, that's not fair. They start out white and within the first day , they are decidedly tan. Within the first 5 days - they are brown. Brown. Now, I have used several scum sponges for my hot tub over the years and they always stay white and firm-ish. You know, the kind of feeling that says "these are not sponges you clean with. These are made for hot tubs".These sponges feel flimsy and ...thin? The fact that they turn brown is just offsetting. It's not because they absorbed brown scum, either (gross. Stop that!) I had just replaced the water in my hot tub and before adding chemicals - they were turning tan. Then I added chemicals (as you do) and they turn that nasty color and they don't feel, at all, like they are doing a single thing but turning brown. That's their entire job - turn brown. I am pretty sure these are better to clean with. Maybe the hot tub lid.Now that's a better re-use of them.

Turns brown in two days
Price is awesome but these sponges are designed to turn brown quickly so they get used up quickly. I verified this by purchasing from a competitor (shaped like a turtle) and over a week later it's just as white as the day I put it in my tub and absorbs scum much better. These will work for you if you don't mind replacing them daily (or if you don't mind a poop colored sponge floatin' around in your tub).

Doesn't work as intended, but does work for cleaning.
These turn brown within the first HOUR of being in the tub. DO NOT LEAVE THEM IN FOR LONG PERIODS. They are flimsy. We left ours in for 3 days and they were already soft and disintegrating. It concerned me that it could possibly destroy our $7k hot tub. I do not recommend them as they aren't the right quality. The only thing they do is pick up small hairs, no scum at all. They are crap. But! They ARE great (when fresh- not used) to give the outsides of the tub a soft scrub since they aren't abrasive. They feel more like "magic" eraser than a scum-catcher. Won't purchase again.

Cheap product - Does not work well
The material is not the same as the better scum balls and since it is flat shaped, it sinks or just barely floats on top with no foam above water line. Ball shaped ones are half in half out allowing them to rub the tub wall to collect scum above water line...these do not. Im not returning them since they are so cheap...so I'll just toss them and get the real deal.

Turned brown and began to dissolve within days
Turned brown in only a few days and not from the water being dirty. Water was already clean and balanced. It also started to break up. Removed them so not to get their dissolving bits sucked into the filter or pump.

Disintegration
This sponge disintegrated and fell apart leaving small tiny particles all over our spa, our chemistry was perfect. We use our spa 2-3 time a week. These are junk.
