Metal or Plastic Comb?
I ordered and received the comb promptly today. This comb is too lightweight to be carried in a back pocket of your jeans. Much better for a shirt or jacket pocket or just left at home (that's what I intend to do). Other than that I like to use it - just something about the feel of metal over plastic that I always liked. The stainless steel is about 1/4 to 1/3 of the thickness of the previous aluminum combs I used to own and lost the last one about 15 years ago. With such a demand I don't know why they don't make a five incher anymore. I would recommend this comb and buy another only if it is not subjected to a back pants pocket. The shipping fee is very high from the supplier IMHO. The comb was very well packed in an over-sized cardboard box but I feel it could have been just as safely sent in an envelope sandwiched between stiff cardboard much less expensively (I used to pack professionally). I would rate this comb 5 stars if were much thicker and did not have the plastic(?) stiffener - just a plain aluminum or stainless steel comb for me.

Good with durability issues
This comb is aesthetically pleasing. It looks SUPER professional. It is also small enough to carry. The teeth are thin enough for a good comb. It is just too good. If you ever buy a comb, buy this one. I imagine you are here due to metal comb's advantages over plastic and wood. If you aren't, google it -- it'll give you a reason to get this comb if I haven't already.UPDATE: This was a good comb, infact I bought another after I gave my first one to my grandmother, because she also liked it. However, my second one , which I bought last August, didn't seem to be good enough. The plastic pretty much cracked and wouldn't hold the metal comb part anymore, which made it pretty much unusable, since it had no handle. Thus, I have downgraded the rating by two stars due to durability issues. All the rest is still pretty good.

Great idea but breaks too easily
I seem to break a plastic comb every month or two, so I thought I would try for something tougher. The Colonel Clyde Crosley stainless steel comb looked promising. I bought two.The plastic rib along the back of my first one snapped in half after two days of normal pocket carry. Without the additional stiffening provided by the plastic the comb no longer works very well. The steel is thin and flexible, which makes it awkward to pull through my hair by itself. The second comb also lasted only two days. The plastic back of this one broke slightly off-center, but the result was the same. It was no longer comfortable to use.If you carry your comb where it is subject to some bending this is not a good choice.

Lasted only 2-weeks before the plastic top of the comb broke in half.
I purchased 2 of these combs to replace an aluminum pocket comb that broke in half after over 20-years of use. I carried this comb in my left back pocket for for about 2-weeks and the top plastic stiffener broke in half. Thinking that this was a one of a kind problem, i switched to the second comb I purchased. This comb's top plastic stiffener broke into 3-pieces in less than 1-week. I am an office worker so I am not engaging in any activity that would be considered rough to the product. It is just a poor quality product and I strongly recommend that anyone considering this product not bother purchasing one.

Item broke in half In my pocket a few days after buying. The second one seems to be holding up. Otherwise, the product is just what I wanted and needed.

Disappointed!!
The comb is poorly constructed of thin stainless steel with a brittle plastic spine that broke the third time I carried it leaving me with nothing more than floppy, useless, tines. Make the steel more substantial and omit the plastic!

Very Poor Design
Very poor design. Plastic back broke in a few days. Comb is much to thin. It is so thin that it irritates the skin and the teeth pierce through heavy duty industrial work pants. Place your money elsewhere.

don't bother
broke within days... I barely used it before the cheap plastic broke. I wouldn't use this on my cat. Save your money
