I was looking for something to help with the laborious task of spring weeding in between the iris beds and this works great. It arrived a day earlier than it was scheduled to, with a handwritten card and a packet of seeds perfect for our zone. It was easy to put together - much easier than I expected given the reviews. The battery charged in under 2 hours and I was in the yard trying it out. Here is what i found overall: it works best on taller weeds (over 3 inches), but the moisture level in the ground doesn't seem to matter once you know which weeds it will pull. It does wrap the weeds around the tilling wheel so we changed the bolt to a Wingnut so I could easily remove if needed to get the weeds out. This doesn't bother me in the least since it is actually pulling weeds for me and I don't have to bend over. I do not need to till the soil for it to pull the weeds but I can if i have a particularly feisty weed that's fighting back. My husband suggested I remove the plastic guard for a better experience and he was right - removing that guard really gives you the full ability to maneuver it into tight spaces and easily yank the weeds out when the tiller wheel is full. Other perks on this miracle tool is that it doesnt seem to grab anything but weeds: so i have tall weeds in the mint and i can stick it right in the mint and all it seems to pull out is the weeds. Of course the weeds are taller than the mint so maybe it's as simple as the height variation. It fits easily between the iris, reaches in around the base of the roses without damaging them and has no problems in the violets.This miracle tool has allowed me to keep up on the weeding in the yard during the spring months without having to stop every hour to rest my back. We have about an acre of mostly roses and flowers and we are in zone 7-8-9, United States. I hope this review is helpful as there seems to be quite a few negative reviews ....possibly from people who didn't put enough time into figuring out how to make the tool work best for them. I am 100% satisfied and am going to buy a second battery since I can now work for over 6 hours at a time weeding and the battery seems to last about 5. I'm glad I gave this a shot.

Works great the older I get the more I need easy gardening

I absolutely loved this weeder until it stopped working. Totally! Battery wouldn’t recharge. I even used my neighbors battery but the machine wouldn’t start. I’ve called every number and emailed but have gotten no response. Very disappointing as I’ve been at it two weeks.Save your money and buy another brand. The “warranty “ is a joke. It should say buyer beware.

The guard that came with the unit was not on it. Directions explained how to put it on. With xx m/m screws. Would not have been a problem putting it together if they would have provided the screws.I think the thing will do the job ..... I just need to find the screws

The Royal Weeder arrived promptly. I only tried it one time because the weather changed. Loved it. I used it on a very large bed and I pooped out before the Royal Weeder. Looking forward to using it more.I've used the Royal Weeder many times since my first review. Here is what I think now....GIVE IT 6 STARS, five is not enough. We're on an acre of land with many flower beds, including 87 peonies, numerous iris, and a large variety of shrubs and flowers, and this fantastic product is making hand weeding nearly obsolete. Being a woman. I find the handpiece a little large, which is typical, I find that all the time in the medical field...but it is perfect for my husband! (I think we need a second Royal Weeder.) When weeds get wrapped around the base, the unit is easy to disassemble and remove the weeds, also some weeds can be plucked out by hand or buy using needle nose pliers, This product exceeded my expectations. I love how it gobbles up Creeping Charlie! Battery has a long life.

It was difficult to put together (wrong screws for blade, handle mounted on the wrong side). It does not do a very good job. A small stick got in the blade and stopped it up. I would not purchase one again; does not help me for my needs

This has turned out to be the perfect tool for my small garden, and its easy on my back! I was pleasantly surprised at how strong and powerful the battery is. The unexpected bonus was that it came with an extra blade for cracks which works great for getting the weeds out of my side walk. I love it so much I am giving one to a friend for her birthday.
