Good Power, but fan is NOT automatic -- it's ON and LOUD!
I received this power supply yesterday and connected it this morning. The good: delivers enough power to 'cold start' my halogen lamp system (175 watts steady @ 12V, much more at startup) without shutting down due to overcurrent. Power seems clean and is adjustable to exactly 12.0 volts. The bad: the fan is not automatic, it is on full-time and it is LOUD -- it comes on instantly when I power up the supply and stays on at full speed continuously, even when I have reduced the load to less than 30 watts. For a 360-watt power supply to run a high speed fan at less than 30 watts load is unacceptable if, as advertised for this supply, the fan senses when components are heating up and comes on only as needed.Bottom line: the supply does deliver the voltage and current I need, but the fan makes the supply very unpleasant to have running on my workbench. If I keep it, I will replace the fan with a better quality fan suited to the enclosure, but probably I will not keep it, I will return it.

Works awesome
Bought this to power an 8" Prusa i3 3d printer; It works perfectly. Power output was easily adjustable using the trimpot and a digital multimeter. Hook up was easy (although there isn't any documentation, there's a lot of info on wiring these up online.Plenty of threaded holes allowed me to print a terminal cover/endcap which houses a master power switch and three pin power socket (sane type as on a PC power supply), and attach this bad boy to the printer; very low profile, and looks cleaner than an ATX power supply. nice clean power too, no interference or signal noise.the cooling fan is quiet, and does rev higher under load; it's quieter than the extruder cooling fan!Others have complained about these, but mine works like a dream! great for hobbyists or those building a reprap; versatile 12V power supply with plenty of juice to drive what you need, yet won't make a huge dent in your power bill. Definitely give it a try if you're debating this item; It's worth checking out!

Gave Up After Two Were Bad
I was in need of a 12VDC to power various things around my house (LED lighting, outdoor lights, motorized blinds, etc.). It needed to be pretty large, but since nothing it would be powering was too critical, I wasn't too concerned about the quality (as long as it put out a consistent voltage). I found this power supply and since the price seemed good and a few people had already had success with them, I decided to give it a shot. The first one I bought was DOA and had something loose rattling around in it. When powered up, the output only read 4VDC and would fluctuate lower if you put any pressure on the terminals. I tried adjusting the potentiometer, but saw no change in output. I returned the unit and imediately order a replacement. The second one had nothing loose inside, but upon powering it up, it made a loud 'pop' from inside and the had no output voltage at all. With both units, I made sure to change the input setting to 115VAC first and I also didn't connect any loads until it was power-up. As a matter of fact, the only load I ever conneced to either was the voltmeter for testing.Lucky for me, Amazon makes returning items pretty painless and I wasn't out any money. I really wanted this to work for me, but I'm not sure if i want to even try a third time given the track record so far.

works
bought this to replace a 15a powersupply that fried. this 30 amp works fine, runs cool, and the noise from the fan is not really a problem if the supply is inclosed in a cabinet. one drawback is mounting it. the supply does not have any tabs to mount it, only machine screw holes in the unit itself. with a little thought and some angle brackets i was able to mount it to a wall. the screw holes are close to the circuit board so they MUST be the correct lenght or they will short the supply.

Working as expected!
I bought this in October 2013, and so far it's been working like a champ as expected. I specifically went with this 30a power supply as I like to oversize them, and not expect them to ever run to their design limits. This one pushes a single show element in a massive synchronized musical holiday lighting display, with RGB pixel based lighting systems. I've calculated the full-on load of the elements to be just shy of 20 amps, continuous. The fan is a bit loud if you are noise sensitive. I'm not, it's mounted in a weatherproof enclosure outdoors, never to be heard, so I'm not knocking a star for that. Fans make noise, you should expect this one to be no different from most dollar-two-ninety-eight fans on earth.

Lots Of Clean 12V Power - Lots Of Loud Fan Noise
Power supply arrived and functions. This supplies the correct voltage to my led accent lights perfectly! My only complaint. The FAN! Nowhere in the description is any sort of noise rating for the fan. This is an indoor unit, and the fan does sound like an old computer supply. I figured it was thermally activated by the description on the case, but it is directly related to the current draw. Ramping up loudly by the time you reach 60% of rated output. I'll be replacing this with something quieter very quickly!

excellent price for the amperage
I bought this power supply to run my RepRap style 3D printer. I had tried a few PC power supplies but none could supply the amperage needed for the heated build platform, which draws 12 Amps, let alone the additional draw for the extruder and stepper motors. So far this seems to be up to the task. I will update if it fails, otherwise you can assume that it continues to work.
