Notice the flat plate(no pointy ends to pierce the fish) with jaws that easily open wide to nearly 1 inch (23mm) so you do not harm the fish lips when you measure. There is no need for pliers, or anything else to help hold the fish while removing fishing hooks or measuring it or taking photos. Instead use The Gripper.Consider it your insurance against losing a fish. After all, using a fish lip grip you could save money and time with fewer lost fish and less skin damage and cuts. You can now avoid the awful possibility of talking about the one that got away because you could not keep a hold of it with your fingers. These marine grade aluminum alloy grippers should last a lifetime, unlike inferior grades of stainless steel that are commonly used with cheap fishing gear.At only 3.5 ounces (100 grams), these are so light you can take them backpacking or throw them in the kayak without feeling extra weight - courtesy of the alloy and the hollowed out center. Ideal for the Hobie too.Measuring 6.5 inches, the compact shape sits comfortably in the hand. Serrated grip edges guarantee non-slip maneuverability. The trigger is smooth and light to operate, even the kids could manage it.At 33lbs (15kg) weight capacity, these are great for handling fresh and salt water fish like, small and large mouth bass, trout, walleye, carp and salmon.Designed and tested by fishing experts to help anglers enjoy hassle-free angling expeditions. No need to worry about losing it, because while it does not float like plastic, the quality carabiner and flexible lanyard keep it secured at the attachment point.Lifetime Guarantee means no risk to you. Precise, tough, compact
I already had a boga and had recently purchased another gizmo for easier one-handed operation. Others weren't bad but awkward on smaller sea trout, too large to get in mouth. Lip grip is perfect size and extremely easy one-hand operation. Light, compact, durable in saltwater use. Best I've seen. You want to avoid the slime of speckled trout. Added my own short lanyard for extended operation.

Very well made
Very well made product. Sturdy and reliable. Only 4 stars because your thumb is VERY close to the lip hooks. This is fine for most fish but, being a salt water fly fisher, I catch some species of fish with a lot of very sharp teeth and who are not happy to have their lips grabbed. Having said that, I mostly use this for wade fishing (trout, redfish) and I'll keep my larger, boga grip on the boat.

PoP! 😞
It definitely grabs the fish lips but I wouldn't suggest grabbing the fish while it's in the water with its hook in its mouth. I forgot my net one night when I went catfishing. Hooked into about 20 pounder so I reached down with these grabbers to get it up on the bank and it shook it's head one more time and the grabbers slid to the side of his mouth and popped the hook right out. Pop! That's the only bad experience I've had with them. More of a heads up than a problem. Enjoy. Tight lines

Good product and easy to carry on belt or in ...
One surf fishing trip. Used it for medium blue fish(2-3 lbs.), one spainish mac and one medium flounder. Worked well , even on the blues. Good product and easy to carry on belt or in pocket.

Works great!
I use this all the time now and it’s easy to use. I wouldn’t recommend you using it on small fish, as it may rip a hole through their mouth, but it’s great for medium to large fish. Great for bass! 👍😎

Great product!
Once you grab the fish with these he won’t be going anywhere. They are lightweight but very strong.
