Very good book on Surya Namaskaram
I have practiced Surya Namaska for few years off and on. Now I want to perform it daily. There are many video’s available on line free of cost but I think this book is a very good investment. It describes the Surya Namaskar in and out in simple language. Print quality is good. I highly recommend this book. It describes surya namaskar in completeness as kriya comprising asanas, pranayam, chakras awareness and mantras. Instead of going online and gathering bits and pieces about this topic, it immensely helped me to gather all the information from single source of reliable truth.

Great book for daily exercise
I’ve been practicing Surya Namaskara for almost a year now. Reading this book has been great help for me to deepen the practice and understand more of its great benefits.

Great book
Excellent book which covers details of practice of Surya Namaskara (Sun Saluation). The book not only explains the 12 poses of Surya Namaskara in details but also provides information on effect of Surya Namaskara on body at endocrine and muscular level. Book also covers mantras and Bija mantras for spiritual aspect of Surya Namaskara.I have read two other books, "Asana Pranayama Mudra Bandha" and "Yoga Nidra", by Swami Satyananda Saraswati. I just love his books. His books cover minute details of each yogic practice and yet they are very easy to follow. I highly recommend this.

Very throrough and detailed introduction to the ancient Surya namaskara
This book is the best I have read so far for Surya Namaskar. I started doing Surya Namaskara after reading and within a month felt the difference in my energy level in my body. My upper arm is much stronger. This is book is like attending a class with a real Yogi teacher. Thank you to all the previous reviewers in helping me decide to buy this book ! I have since then bought many other of Bihar School of Yoga. Their work is very good.

A solid introductory text into Sun Salutation
Like most other Bihar books this one has solid information on the Sun Salutation. You get an orientation to the sun, the postures, associated mantras, breath coordination, the entire thing. The text is easy enough for a newbie to read and complete enough for the moderate level yogini. Still, you may find it difficult to keep up practice on your own without a yoga teacher so I'd recommend this to someone who has already done some yoga before. Very solid book and enjoyable to read in it's clarity.

Light weight and so authentic
Wouldn't you like to receive a description of Surya Namaskara from the point of view of Psychodynamics, coming from Swami Satayananda Sarasvati? This book is copywrited by Bihar School of Yoga and the author is Swami Satayananda Sarasvati, so finally you can find out why Sun Salutations are so important as a part of your daily yoga practice. Vinyasa class includes Sun Salutations and many other yoga types and classes would offer you Sun Salutations incorporated in their routine. Many teachers encourage us to practice Sun Salutations, but why? Imagine, you can finally find out why we read and hear so much about Sun Salutations in yoga-dedicated magazines and yoga classes. The book explains why we worship sun, how many Surya Namaskar is enough (from two to twelve rounds a day, for example, and half of them are done slowly).

The Fundamental Vinyasa
I have given away nearly as many copies of this book as I have owned. At times I have repurchased 3 copies knowing I would end up giving them away. An excellent book that outlines the practice in detail as well as spiritual, ayurvedic and western medical benefits. Sun Salutation has been my base practice for some 28+ years now and I recommend it and this book very highly. I detail more of my practice in a blog post on my website.

Wonderful!
I bought this, for research purposes, after reading about it in A Systematic Course in the Ancient Tantric Techniques of Yoga and Kriya. I was trying to find the most efficient exercise for the least amount of labor involved. I'm fairly certain Sun Salutations is it. I'm a licensed massage therapist and I tell my clients that this is what works for me if I can't make it to get a massage, or make it out to the gym. It tunes every system of the body.
