Nicer than exspected.
Works well if you press down hard on the glass to seal the lid. Helps that the glass is about 3/4 inch. Pot is heavy aluminum. I also lubed the pot lip with vaseline before starting. It held -23 inhg overnight. Nice unit.

Works great
I have used this vacuum chamber several times now. It makes a great seal and will work upwards of 29 mmhg. For the money, this vacuum chamber is awesome. The controls are solid. I went for the smaller chamber coupled with a small a/c vacuum pump.

The perfect size for small/medium projects and solid as a rock. Great product.
I'm new to vacuum degassing. I did some research on products and settled on the Bacoeng setup. I originally was going to get a smaller chamber but decided to spend a bit extra on the 1.5 gallon size. I'm glad I did. It fits a decent sized container or several small ones for degassing and having the gauge on the side leaves the glass top clear for viewing the process. It's fun to put marshmallows in and let my 7yo learn some things. It holds the vacuum really well. I pulled it to -29.5 and left it for 24 hours and held without issue. The glass lid is heavy and it seals quickly and the chamber walls/floor are thick and sturdy. The gauge and valves that come with it are sturdy and work very well with the chamber and the silicon mat is thick and appears very well made. It's packed really well and arrived quickly with no damage. If I had to nitpick on something, it would be the rubber washer used for the gauge on the inside of the chamber. You've got to tighten the inner nut quite a bit to squish the washer enough to ensure it seals properly. See picture. Having a thicker washer, or maybe one that's a bit more solid would help it seal a bit easier. Otherwise 5 stars all around.

Sturdy, decent value, holds great vacuum.
Great unit, like everything about it except for how the valves go through the wall. THere are a couple flimsy orings and the whole valve assembly just flops around. I was able to tap it for ⅛" npt (or ¼", I don't remember right now) and it held well against a gasket, so I was satisfied.

Works well and does not leak.
Sturdy and simple. Pulled and vacuum and let it sit overnight with no leaks. Way awesome.

Some Assembly Required
First, I am super pleased with my purchase. It is made with good quality materials and works as it should. Once assembled, I pulled 25 inches of vacuum and closed the valves. After 30 minutes, the gauge hadn’t moved. I chose the glass lid because of its ability to work with some materials that the acrylic lid was not recommended for. Plus, it also gives you a clear and unobstructed view of what’s going on inside. The vacuum gauge assembly must be attached to the pot, but it only takes a minute and a 16mm wrench. Now for the rest of the story. I am embarrassed to say, but when the unit arrived I could not find the hole in the chamber pot. I sent Baco Engineering a message. Their response was prompt and expressed an honest concern for the issue with a couple of options to address it. They asked if I could send a photo. Well, during the “photo shoot” I found the hole. The point here is that beyond my embarrassment, that Baco Engineering stands behind their products and are very concerned about their quality and customer satisfaction. Well done Baco Engineering.
