I bought my Hero 5 Black and recorded my first ride with no wind protection, it was pretty miserable. I looked for a inexpensive option to help protect the microphone and improve the sound quality on ride videos. This little piece of foam improved the sound quality exponentially! It seriously cuts out most all of the wind noise from my videos. For $6, I don't think you'll be disappointed. About the only drawback I've found is that it increases the profile of the camera a bit, but not enough to complain, in my opinion. (The pics show the foam installed over the camera and frame. )

I use this on my motorcycle and there is some distinguishable improvement under 35 mph. Anything beyond that and you might as well not use anything.

Fit pretty good and has some stretch to it so it may last for some time without tearing. Have not tried it to see if it really does make any difference in reducing wind noise but will have a chance to do that over the next couple of weeks. If it does not reduce wind noise I will come back to this review and revise it.

Great for noise reduction but does loosen over time. They are inexpensive so I just replace them every so often. There is a major reduction in wind noise in my videos though.

Convenient, but muffles audio too much and doesn't allow visability of the screen or led lights to quickly ensure you are recording. For my needs, this was not for me.

Paired with my Hero 7 Black, mostly for mountain biking. Allows me to set the mics to stereo only (avoiding the horrible sounding wind mic) and get good quality audio with minimal wind noise. Great value for the $.

Amazing performance. Pretty tough for foam

This is nice. I might buy a couple extra soon since I take it my GoPro in and out so much.
