Awesome Aquatic Micron Polishing Felt Filter Pad (50 Micron 24 x 36)

I have 6 young goldfish in a 10 gallon. While setting up the initial tank and getting the water to balance (always a fun chemistry experiment!) I had periods of very cloudy, stinky water before it finished cycling. I keep a rectangle of this cut to size on the inside of the last filter panel. It works wonders. Please note, if your tank water is dirty, it will clog in a day or two! However, the felt can be rinsed and reused to reasonable effectiveness (please don't use tap water, this kills the good bacteria! I rinse and squeeze it several times in old tank water during water changes. Takes a bit of extra work but it is worth it, my tank is so well balanced now). The package contains a huge sheet of felt. For my size tank and filter, this will probably last me 30 years lol! If you are lazy you can just keep cutting new pieces but as I explained above, this can be rinsed at least a couple times. One tiny square seems to last me 3-6 months before I get fed up with trying to clean it. I imagine this would work nice with sump filters or canister filters, but I haven't tried so I don't know for sure. However, for scrubbing those tiny micro particles, I can't recommend this enough!

I use this stuff in an outdoor pond and love it. It's so durable you can use one piece countless number of times. I hit it with a hose and it washes clean in a way that is very satisfying, lol. There's a time of year when my area is hit with storms and leaves falling all at once and my pond needs a bit of help to stay clear. The storms blow in all sorts of dirt and leaves and such and it just turns to muck quicker then the pump can handle. I take this stuff, cut a piece off, wrap it around the pump and tie it on with a bungee. I am AMAZED at what it can pull out of the water. I then lay it on an old wire table and hit it with the hose till it's clean and the put it back on. I have yet to have any of it disintegrate or go bad. Strongly recommend it!

Great, the cloth adds extra filtering, I recommend every tank should use polishing cloth, if adding carbon squares, you will see a cleaner tank

This filter works great, you can cut it to any size, and reuse it countless times. I have one in my 50 gallon tank and I have cleaned it 4 times already and it looks new each time, very durable. Very easy to clean and cut to any size. It is a very fine felt, so it filters out a lot, but I have it cut down so that some water can run over and not overflow my filter. Great value because you get tons of fabric and can reuse them many times.

I got the 50 micron. It cleared up my tank within 48 hours. It works great for cloudiness. But it will clog up fairly quickly if your tank is even slightly dirty. I've been pulling and rinsing it and found I could get 1-3 uses per piece. Great water polisher.

This filter completely blocked my filtration system within 24 hours. I am glad I noticed this immediately. Otherwise my heater and water bump will likely be damaged.
