If you or a loved one live with asthma, bronchitis or emphysema, this medically engineered DVD program can help you improve your mobility. Performing the routines on this DVD can improve your ability to breathe, increase your enjoyment to participate in daily activities, and release stress. Occupational Therapy Practitioner Suzanne Andrews instructs you with gentle therapeutic breathing and specially designed exercise techniques to help increase your lung capacity. Exercise is essential because the less active you are, the weaker your muscles get. Weak muscles need more oxygen and this causes a chain reaction of being short of breath. Suzanne guides you with easy to follow, yet effective, techniques to create stronger breathing muscles. You have a choice of performing the movements seated or standing. The DVD also contains special therapeutic energy conservation techniques to improve your ability to cook, dress, play with your pet and more to help you stay active and get more enjoyment out of life.

Get this video, learn breathing exercise, and move around a little bit....
This was a rather slow paced exercise video, with a good instructor who explained each exercise rather it was a physical exercise or a breathing exercise. It can be boring if you let it because it is slow paced but if you give it a chance I think you will find that doing the exercises either sitting or standing will help you greatly if you have COPD, or Asthma ( I have both). I am 62, and have had COPD since I was 32. I spent 15 years in the Army when I was medically retired because of the COPD. Over the years I was finally placed on oxygen, and had given up exercise. But recently upon a vist to my doctors office I learned how much weight I had gained, and decided I needed to do something, anything if it could help me breath better. I don't really expect to lose much weight using this video, but it has motovated me to stop using my COPD as an excuse to sit on the couch and to start moving more, even if it means I sit down every 5 minutes to catch my breath. I know COPD is a killer and will kill me in the end, but I am not going down without a fight. For the cost of this video its well worth the instruction on breathing exercises alone, so if you know someone with copd, or have any breathing problem, this video is likely to open your eyes. I recommed this video to anyone who has this terrible disease.

From a COPD'ers Perspective
This DVD is great for us with COPD. There are both great breathing exercises, stretching and a little weight. I particularly like the way she stops periodically telling the participate to take breathes; something very important for us.I would recommend to anyone with COPD!!I wish she'd come out with more advanced exercises for COPD users. Thanks

This is useful.
I have severe COPD , it cannot be cured but to avoid further deterioration exercising is an absolute necessity. This tape is ok but I thought it was too short. I follow Ms. Andrews but without much enthusiasm. I am looking for another video.

Disappointed
I was disappointed in this video. I have COPD and was looking for some exercises I could do to help. The instructor had some good info, but at first glance at the lit candles in the backgroud, I knew there was no one using oxygen. The woman "guest" did not have any breathing problems as she smiles the entire time and does the exercises way "too" fast. The biggest problem with following the exercises was not telling when to breathe in and out. I would not recommend this video to COPD patients.

I have found this exercise program terrific! I do what I can
I suffer from COPD and when I saw this DVD, thought I would give it a try! I have found this exercise program terrific! I do what I can, and find I am progressing, going a little further each time I do the program. I have an alternate exercise video but find the exercises provided by Suzanne Andrews much more to my liking! She makes exercising quite ok! Some day I might even make it to the end of the 2nd set of exercises! That is my goal!

Have COPD or Emphysema? Then get this DVD.
If you have COPD or Emphysema, you should get this DVD. At first, I was really put off by the way she seems to talk down to you, but then realized that she is probably talking to "senior seniors" whose disease is much more advanced than mine. I learned some very valuable breathing skills from this DVD. I also learned to feel fortunate that I am sill as strong as I am.
