Ceramic Message/Menu Board

I got mine for a discount at $35, and even that was a bit of a stretch; I'd never pay more than that for this item. It's not quite as large as I expected, the bottom and top really do add inches, so the ceramic area (or writing area that is) is just a bit smaller in size than I'd thought). The overall dimensions are true to form however. That said, depnds on what you want it for. At its size, it's perfect for the table; anything larger would be too much there. On the other hand if you're wanting it for the head of a buffet, and this is just my opinion which is what reviews mostly are, I think you'd want something a tad more in stature. At this size though it works just fine sitting right on the dining room table. I do like that the rod that leans to the back to keep it upright has a rubber footing to prevent it from sliding. They hit the mark there. It also metal unlike the old drake design equivalents that literally had a felt covered cardboard picture frame stand attahked to the back of them. Where they did miss the mark is that I feel there should also be a chain/cord/string that runs from near the bottom back to the rod so that it can't open past a certain point. In their defense, they do try to incorporate a similar mechanism at the top, but that wouldn't have hurt. You may need to unscrew the screws and adjust the acanthus metal at the top and or bottom but that is easily achieved. Otherwise, it looks nice enough (for something that is mostly off-white), is sturdy enough, doesn't slide too easily, and is a fine size depending on your application. Just don't expect to write a full course menu (as the ad suggests) unless you write reasonably small or your menu is very short! Above average but short of a must have.

Great addition to kitchen

Been wanting to order for years, so glad I found it.... packaged beautifully, arrived faster than expected. No pen is included, so will have to purchase one...Very satisfied.

I love this message board. Nice size. However, on one order the pen was dried up and on my most recent order, the pen was not even included.

Super nice better than expected

This is awesome! I've had one before and I accidentally broke it. Immediately had to buy another one! Great for menus for guests but also love notes, celebrations, reminders for the family, holidays - million uses! I've given it as a wedding present, too, and they were thrilled to get something different and useful!
