I just received this a few days ago. There are several things I like about it. #1 as they pointed out wet soil in direct contact with the wood causes rot. It came with a plastic, removable , washable liner to prevent that. Others that I looked at , didn’t. 2) came with excellent instructions. # 3 quality seeds. #4 price. Also came with a spray bottle. The bottle was kind of chintzy and was defective but everything else is great, grass is growing and I stand with my ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️rating.

I had this kit sitting in a closet for MONTHS before I finally got around to growing it. I had it in a shaded spot on my balcony and planted the seeds per instructions early August. By the next day the seeds were already sprouting and by the end of the 2nd week I decided to bring it inside for our cats. They immediately loved it. I was worried at first because the weather outside has been over 100° everyday, but I made sure to keep the top soil moist. I did adjust a few things. I put a couple small rocks in the bottom to raise the plastic liner. Then I put 3 holes in the plastic liner for drainage. I lines the bottom of the plastic with more small rocks and then I added the dirt and seeds. I don't have much of a green thumb but I had a bag of rocks sitting around and thought this wouldn't hurt.

The outside package and the wooden tray are sturdy and good looking. Everything else is flimsy and very disappointing. I do not think it will hold up to use. But the worse thing -- and very annoying -- is that the seed packet clearly had never been closed, the flap was unfolded, and the seeds were everywhere -- and when I opened that sturdy outside box, seeds spilled all over the counters, floor and rug. the amount I could retrieve will not plant a full tray. Because the outside box was intact and strong, I can only imagine that the seed packet was thrown in open and carelessly. Not good! I will try to find a stronger insert, and buy more seeds but -- for the money-- this is not a good value after all.

I chose this grass kit from MICROGREEN PROS Store because it was the only one that had a cat friendly and practical base for the grass to grow in. it sits low to the ground and is about the length of a kitty body. they can graze on it or in it and it won't tip over or spill. my grass is 2 1/2 weeks old now in this photo. i have had to clip it down twice so far. my furry family loves it.I'm disappointed that no one lays in it like that cute grey kitty in the other reviewer's photo.i took away 1 star because the squirt bottle included in this kit is PET plastic. why would i go to the trouble of buying a kit with organic seeds and a PP food safe tray only to spray poison all over my grass because of the leaching PET plastic squirt bottle that also is included?advice... throw that bottle into the recycling bin and choose instead to use a squirt bottle that is HDPE.the entire kit is well made.

What a beautiful product! From the beautiful wooden platform, plastic water retainer tray, expanding soil, seeds, labeling stake, and spray bottle for watering, this is a complete set and amazing quality!!!This is a great gift for pet owners, kids as a diy project or even a beautiful gift for a shelter or rescue!!Well worth the price, I'm infatuated with this cute garden of Wheatgrass for my 3 cats!! I liked the way instructions was. Easy as long as not over watering it. I believe the plant started to grow in couple days in front of my cat’s and mine eyes. It has been about one week and the grass is about 6 inch tall but my cat just rubs her face but does not eat it as far as I know. That has nothing to do with the product though. Being fair it’s my cats not ever being outside and has no idea what that for. I think it is good idea to introduce it to the cat cause it do good for it’s belly.

Photo is almost 2 weeks after planting. If you don't have the perfect window and have to put it outside in warm weather, it won't grow. The seed is the same as any quality cat grass you can buy (I really like 'The Cat Ladies'). The soil is VERY light and does not retain moisture. The spray bottle is not much help. I tried watering the soil more frequently but it took forever to sprout the few blades of grass that finally grew. You can grow cat grass in any pot with a decent soil that you can buy at your local garden store. So bottom line you are paying for the container which may last a while but is not worth the cost.

I love this. It looks spectacular. The grass started to grows within 4 days and became thick and lush within a week. I was concerned about the wood becoming damaged over time by water but it is well lined and has held up beautifully. I spray the grass daily with the water bottle provided and give it a trim once a week and it has thrived longer without being replanted longer than the other grass kits I have used. The kitties love it. Highly recommend.
