Perfect fit; gotta love Gore-Tex three stripes for under $100
I wear an Adidas 12 in everything from Taekwondo shoes to running shoes, so this was the right size. You get two insoles, and I put in the looser fit ones (they are clearly labeled), as the ones that came inside the shoes were a bit tight.Wide toe-box, good grip, and very comfortable. They're a little less aggressive than some of the other outdoor line of shoes, making them a bit friendlier for the urban commuter. The Adiprene middle layer has been great as far as stress on my feet goes.My only complaint is this: Adidas is fond of an odd dark blue in hiking shoes, and sometimes it looks better than others -- and looks good here. If I had realized this was the same blue, I might have gone with grey. Now, that said, variety is great and these are really comfortable, so I'll probably wind up getting a pair in grey as well eventually (or when these burn out). This is a darker version of that steel blue than other shoes I've owned from Adidas have sported, and there is quite a bit of black to balance it out.I have no idea how they'd be for hiking. Not used them for that purpose, nor do I intend to. This is strictly an urban commuter shoe for me -- because grip and Gore-Tex are both important in Boston.Very pleased with this purchase. There are a lot of competitors in the field, as it were, but Adidas managed to come in under budget for me. Hoping they'll last as long as some of their competitors as well.

really comfy except for one thing - returned
I liked these shoes and wore them inside my house to see if they would work. They felt really comfortable, except for one thing. There are interior seams where the heel piece meets the rest of the shoe. In the top-view product picture, you can see the shoe's lining uses a lighter gray piece of material on the inside of the shoe around the heel/Achilles tendon area. Where it meets the black material for the rest of the lining, there is a seam, and that bumpy part on the outside of the ankle rubs against it. I didn't have any issues with the seam on the inside. It was hard and unforgiving exactly where you want soft and cushioned. The sides of the seam are ok (normal use), but when I tilt my foot to the outside (e.g.: standing sideways on an incline), the top of the seam would push uncomfortably on the outer edge of my ankle.I even removed the factory inserts and put in my own (much thicker) orthotics to see if lifting the foot up helps, but only minimal relief. I then used the thinner of the two inserts with my orthotics, still an issue. I broke my left ankle and have a metal plate on the fibula, and that side was rubbing badly, but the other side felt a bit uncomfortable, too.Otherwise, these seem to be great shoes. They were comfy, fit well, and seemed like good quality (didn't test the waterproofing), but that one issue caused me to return them.

Really nice shoes (Now bought a new pair)
Update:Bought new pair in case these become discontinued while the old ones were starting look a little worn down. The soles last really well, I've killed the soles on some other shoes while I've owned these even though these are what I most often wear. These shoes along with the high arch insoles that I added have cured my plantar fasciitis.Original review:Roomy in the toe box, but the shoes tighten well so you aren't sliding around in them. I ditched both sets of inserts and replaced them with somewhat rigid high arch insoles which did the trick since I have higher arches that any standard insole will take care of anyway. These look great. I haven't had the opportunity to check out how water proof they are yet. One note that I have for them is that the tongue stays centered really well compared to most of the shoes that I own.

GREAT WALKING / HIKING SHOES.
I have trouble with my feet (toes, specifically) and need to wear shoes with very good support. I was wearing North Face hiking shoes but they discontinued the style I liked. Since I've had previous good luck with Adidas, I gave these a try. I'm 100% satisfied. They are extremely comfortable, not too heavy, go good with either shorts or jeans, and are very easy on my feet.I've noticed that there's a big price fluctuation between sizes and sellers. If my size ever gets down to the price I originally paid, I'll buy another pair.

comfortable, waterproof
Well-made, comfortable, waterproof, looks good--no complaints at all about the shoe. The only slight problem is that the sole rubber does mark floors, so you really have to take them off at the door before stepping too far inside.

Wished they fit the same as my old Adidas
I have an average width foot and wear a men’s 8.5. Although the width and toe box fit well, the height around my ankle felt low and my heel was slipping. With the hiking mileage I put on I do not want to take the chance and returned them. I do not have this problem with my other Adidas shoes but they are wearing out and Adidas discontinued the model I wear. Also, the color of the black suede has a navy hue which I did not care for. It otherwise seemed to be a well constructed shoe.

Big toe box. Really big.
I wear a size 14 to 15 so I have big feet. I like the looks of this shoe and the goretex lining works well and the heel fits nicely and I appreciate the double insole to allow more custom fit. But the toe box is very deep and wide. Which is great for wearing two pairs of socks, but makes them a bit too loose for daily wear.

nice for a wide foot and great tread
I used to buy exclusively Merrel until for some reason recently they changed their sizing and now all of their shoes are weirdly shaped and don't fit my foot well. Anyway I searched around and couldn't really find anything locally so I bought these adidas on a whim, based mostly on the fact that their appearance is similar to my old Merrels. Really glad I did because they fit great on my slightly wider foot and have been holding up great. One thing I really like about these things is the tread material is almost like the rubber on my truck tire - it has excellent traction on all surfaces, probably the best of any shoe I've tried.
