These SocoTran FRS radios are small and fit in your pocket nicely. The wife and I use them to get hold of each other when one of us is outdoors working on the property. It's flat terrain and thus far work just fine up to a 1/2 mile distance we tried them. Battery life is pretty good. If used daily good idea to charge them, they have internal lithium rechargeable battery built-in. And they come with a small flashlight built-in which helps when it is dark outdoors. Our other FRS radios ate through batteries and were bigger these do not. Great product.

Update 1/24/2022: The seller contacted me and sent me a new walkie that works very well. The customer service is excellent and the hand written note was a nice touch.One works great. The other cuts out on both sending and receiving. The battery life is awesome.

My son is distraught! Got these for his birthday and all of a sudden one stopped charging so he can’t use it at all!Updated:Customer service reached out and made it right, sent me a battery first, unfortunately that was not the issue then sent me a replacement Hand set which works great!!

We bought 2 sets of these just over a year ago and they still work great - we use them probably every other day for hours at a time. They hold a charge for a very long time! We had trouble with one of the walkie talkies for about a week or 2 (it would receive, but not transmit) but then it just began to work again on its own.We've used them up to a mile away as long as it's pretty clear (there were lots of trees, but no hills/mountains). When someone gets behind a particular hill on our property that's about 3/4 mile away, we can still generally communicate, but it's pretty rough and staticky. I would definitely recommend these and am actually back to buy another set since we lost one of them.

I am correcting my previous review. I bought these for my children so they can stay in contact with me. You have to hold the talk button for a few seconds before saying anything otherwise your words get cut. No matter how far or close you are it's hard to hear what the other person is saying. My partner and I tried to use them. He was in a clear line of sight and they wouldn't even connect. I couldn't hear him and he couldn't hear me. They barely work at short distances. I ended up giving them away. They're useless and a waste of money.

These walkies work...when they work. I ordered two sets and had them on but barely talked through them for a 7 hour day three times before the blue set stopped working. It wouldn't charge, wouldn't turn on, nothing. I sent an email to the company and they said they'd send me another set immediately. 3 weeks later, there was still no sign of my new walkies. I contacted them again and they only *then* sent out the new ones. I'm glad they replaced them. I'm skeptical of how long this set will last. And I wasn't happy that I had to contact them again because they forgot about their promise to send me new ones. But they did deliver in the end. If any more fail, I'll update this post.

I took a chance on a used electronic item and it turned out that I am very satisfied with it. The condition was great and everything works as it should. The price was also great. The battery life can last for a good while since it’s just for the boys to play with and has useful accessories for it. Overall, it was well worth it.
