The DVDs might be a better buy
This is "about" "natural" horse training, but probably needs the DVDs to be truly effective.Monty does a fair job and putting into the written word, what likely needs to be OBSERVED first hand.I prefer the Joe Camp books, because Joe has gone a step further with more "natural" horse "keeping" (i.e. barefoot, more pasture time, less messing around with blankets, and tiny stalls, etc.)I realize there are some Monty "haters" out there, but if you look around you will see that most "modern" trainers have built on his methods.I bought the kindle edition, and you might prefer a print version due to the illustrations.

Clear and concise
I grew up with horses a long time ago and have just come across an opportunity to take up riding again. The horse that I now have access to does not have any real training although I have been told he is broken. Years ago my father and I trained a colt and I remembered using some of Monte Roberts' methods. So, I ordered his book. After reading it I found the instructions were written clearly and concisely. The illustrations helped to clarify in my minds-eye how the various steps were to be completed. My only complaint is that there were technical terms used in the book that I was unfamiliar with and they were not defined.

From My Hands to Yours review
The most revolutionary training book I've seen yet.... this is my primary resource for all things training-related. Monty Roberts has discovered a new way to think about training, a new way to think about horses, and brought it to life. This book is the culmination of his studies and work with horses in the wild, and his journey towards becoming a world-known trainer. The picture graphics in the book that show each of his movements with the horses are one of the most helpful tools I've seen in the book, and he has detailed descriptions of the work he does with the horses. All in all, completely worth the price I paid! I'll go back to this book over and over whenever I have training questions. Thank you, Monty!

A Fantastic book of authorship of an Extraordinary person!
Monty Robert came to Brazil some times and he was always revealed what sincerely it is: a special person, of great charisma, who has much knowledge on the true nature of the horses.Who loves the horses and really desires to understand them, it must with certainty buy this wonderful book, well illustrated, didactic and that in them it brings deep knowledge obtained for the author in decades of chore with equines. It cannot be said that one loves the horses without reading and learning with books of Monty Robert!

Best guide to training Horses.
I loved this book! Monty Roberts gives just plain simple instructions on how to properly deal with the issues that arise from training a new horse or an old horse. Any new rider or an old rider that's getting back into the game of riding again (like me) should read this book. The other books Monty Roberts has written were great too. If you have a young child that can read or a young teen, they will love his book, Shy Boy.

You can't find better than Monty Roberts when it comes to understanding horses
You can't find better than Monty Roberts when it comes to understanding horses. If you haven't read "The Man Who Listens To Horses" I highly recommend it as well. Her Majesty the Queen of England put him on the map of the horse world for good reason!

A must-read for anyone interested in horse behaviour + training, even for those who don't subscribe to Monty's methods
I read this cover to cover when I was looking for kinder ways to overcome my horse's issues. It's really easy to read and structured in a way that makes it easy to jump to the section that you need. Having studied Zoology and Psychology at degree level, I personally agree with some of the methods and disagree with others. However, I was able to take some useful tips from the book and would recommend it to others if they are researching training methods and are able to balance and evaluate the content against other sources of information. Despite my reservations it's an interesting read for anyone interested in horse behaviour and the different methods used for training etc.

what an incredible life. for horse lovers it is a must - this will change your mind on so many levels. for non horsey people this is a very readable, amusing and lively read. the parts when he comes to england to stay at windsor castle and then round the manors of england are a riot. I would have read it from start to finish but my senior eyes had to rest. this man is an inspiration, a humanitarian and someone i will be lucky enough to meet this october on his tour round the UK.for me this is one of those books that sticks in your mind - a book that keeps on giving

Talking to Horses
This was bought as a present so only glanced through it. A very detailed account of his system with excellent drawings and photographs. Thinking of getting my own copy from what I've seen of it!

All the great Monty wisdom. A hands-on guide.
All the great Monty wisdom much of which you may already have imbibed from his earlier works but here laid out in more detail with comprehensive instructions on dealing with particular problems. Less anecdotal than his other writings but more instructional. A must have for disciples of Monty's principals of intelligent horsemanship. A practical hands-on manual, invaluable for any horse owner.

The Dr Dolittle of Horses
Great book. I've seen Monty in action and have used it around horses my whole life. This breaks down his logic into easily understandable steps
