Vanilla Bay Signature Racerback Maxi Dress

So I do this thing called Maxi Mondays where on Mondays, I wear maxi dresses or skirts. I was excited to get this dress (I got it in Navy and Mauve), but the top part cinched at the ribs instead of the waist, so it looks very odd on me. I am 5'4" and 135, and I got mediums. They make me look pregnant. I am not pregnant. It looks alright with a belt, but I'll probably just keep wearing it with cardigans. Party cardis and maxi Mondays! Whoop whoop! The navy dress looked better because it was less obvious how ill-fitted it looks. Additionally, the pockets were very low on the dress, and it was slightly too long. I might just need to shrink it... I will update post-laundry, and I'll post pictures later!

Pros: Great quality for the price! Material was not too thin and see through at all. Blue color was vibrant - I loved it. Pockets don't add too much extra bulge in the hip area. Beautiful dress.Cons: Not made for someone with a large chest...I am 5'3, weigh 155 and wear size medium tops and 8 bottoms. My chest is a 38DDD and the seam for the waist stopped about 2 inches above the bottom of my chest (it's too short). This made for an unflattering side view and no shape. I can't order a size larger because the actual body of the dress (not the top part) fit perfectly. Of course, at 5'3 the dress was about 3 to 4 inches too long, but I expected that (I had planned to get it hemmed). Unfortunately, do to the lack of chest room, I had to return.

I received my dress today. I washed it prior to wearing and it washed well. I am 5'6 and was looking for dresses to wear postpartum to hide my newly acquired belly. It looks great! I ordered a large, I currently weigh 167 lbs and it fits perfect, chest is 38 D, due to the flexibility of the fabric, the top fits well. I plan to order in more colors! Also, the black dress is not terribly see-through.

I really like these Maxi dresses, I actually bought them in two different colors. The pockets do bulge out a little which can make your hip area look funny but not a deal breaker. The material is more of a spandex type then cotton so it does cling a bit to your hips and legs. Overall nice dress!

I love this dress! I ordered it for my trip to Hawaii. It is very well constructed, nice fabric, breathes well, drapes well and will likely be in my rotation for years to come. I'm 5'7" (140 lbs) and ordered a Small, based on bust and hip measurements stated in the size chart. Because the skirt portion of this dress has some room to play, it may be wise to order size based on your bust and waist measurements. The dress was comfortable and free flowing, packed up nicely without needing to be ironed (I folded it in half lengthwise and then rolled it) and didn't take up much suitcase space...leaving room to bring home more macadamia nuts.

This is a nice dress for the money but the one I received is different from the one pictured. The hem on mine sits right under my boobs like an empire waist, while the one on the model is much lower. For reference I'm 5'7, 145lb, and 34/C. I ordered a small which did fit nicely, I just don't care for the high waist so I'm returning it.

Absolutely gorgeous dress! Its so smooth and soft. Not see through at all. The top hangs a bit liw under the arms so i suggest ordering a size smaller unless you have a long torso. My favorite dress i own. I get compliments everytime i wear it!

This was my dress for second formal night during Caribbean cruise. Dressed it up with some chunky jewelry (purchase the olive pattern) and flat sandals. Again fabric weight was soft and comfortable but if you wear during day you might want a light slip. I am average size woman, athletic build (not over weight), 5'6" and wear a size 10. Dress fit great, arm holes were not too big (wear 36B bra that did not show) and works with flat sandals.
