Peter Bialobrzeski: Nail Houses or the Destruction of Lower Shanghai Hardcover – November 30, 2014

I have a real problem with what I called gutter spreads. They seem to be in vogue, now, just as when wall art got so massive years back to make the investor know that size mattered and would protect the outlay. A good non-commercial photographer sees the scene without a gutter spread filter in place, so the published image generally suffers with the trough in the middle, especially when said images are as formally complex as Bialobrzeski's are here. Try to see this work in a gallery and even if massively rendered there, it won't be trying to warp into the third dimension as do the pages of this book.
