This is more for an adult or older child. I would not let a younger child near it as it is extremely hot. It's a lot of fun and easy to operate. It does require a lot of filament which is not included so to really get some use out o it you should purchase that when you get the pen or you wont be able to do much. It adds a whole new dimension to art class I must admit.

This tool is a handy pen that turns colored plastic filament into 3D objects, it takes some practice but is a fun hobby and the creative possibilities are endless and very habit forming. Adult supervision is needed with children but it's a very good hobby to share together and with patience you can have lots of fun together Look up youtube videos to learn how to use this.

Pyrography was something I enjoyed as a kid, but I was not ready to have my child experiment with it. Safety first! It looks very easy in the videos, but it's far from. Practice makes it perfect.Instructions are easy, but need getting used to.You need a steady hand.Learn when to stop the line.When planning you designs consider this:-PLA is a hard plastic.-PLC is a soft/pliable plastic.This is the toy that lets your or your child's creative side loose.I won't have headaches over birthday presents in the future either. I received this 3D pen set in a timely manner, neatly packaged. Set included everything that was promised. It also has plastic finger covers to help prevent burns, which I was glad to see. I was impressed by the amount of plastic fillament in bright colors. You need to follow instructions to understand how to use it, but after the first couple tries it becomes as easy as drawing with a marker. I recommend this product for kids older than 8y.o.

My daughter had been asking for a 3d pen. Found this one and figured it was worth a try for the price. Fun toy food for okder Kidz/teens. A little difficult to use but with practice can make some really cool designs. Nice that it came with extra colored filament

This is a very worthy toy. My daughter likes it very much. It has colorful colors, which makes the imagination even better. It's very simple to use. For my 5 year old daughter, she can learn to do some simple three-dimensional patterns.
