Great book

Good sample of some of the Allman Bros Hits

I agree with the others that said this book is very basic. I expected it to be a little more than what it is but it is really for a beginner. Good selection of songs but a little disappointed that it wasn’t a little more advanced.

The Peach for Georgia, possible of the top 10 Southern Rock bands of all time, Tied to the whipping post, Sweet Melissa.

Fabulous book, great band!

The price was right and it's a solid book. Worth having for sure. My husband is a guitar teacher and he says it works out very well for his students.

Here's yet another lame Hal Leonard product. True, the Allman Brothers recorded songs with the names of pieces in this book...but the book versions are only weakly reminiscent of the real songs. For example, the book's version of "Melissa" is pathetic and monotonous. The oriinal version moves all over the neck. This one sticks to campfire chords and single note riffs. The same applies to all the other selections. Of course, given that most people buying this will not have professional skills, some compromises are expected. However, this book compromises itself out of the worthwhile. Save your money, time, and frustration. Easily located tabs are far superior to this dreg. Have a nice day!
