I bought this for ordering glasses online. It arrived with the paint printed a good 3mm off the embossed lines on the ruler, making accurate measurements nearly impossible. Even if it had been manufactured properly there's no "center" mark to measure from. Instead, I ended up just using a marker to put a dot where my pupils are on my old glasses while looking in a mirror and then measuring from there, something one of the technicians at a glasses shop had done to measure my PD previously. Save your money and don't buy this poorly made product. UPS just picked it up for a return and refund.

I gave this five stars, BUT: be sure you know what you’re doing. Ideally, get a reliable person to measure for you. If not, use a wall-mounted mirror in a well-lit space. I bought this to get my PD (pupil distance) to order glasses online, rather than pay optometrist mark-up. Have to say, I was spot on getting my PD correct and saved a lot by going with a reliable online eyeglass store. This ruler is well worth it and accurate, IF you measure correctly.

Optometrists are legally required to give you your prescription information in all fifty states, but only a few states require them to give you your Pupillary Distance, which is just as important to getting an accurate pair of glasses. With this tool, you can get a measurement for yourself and order glasses from online retailers for a fraction of the cost.I do have to give it some dings because the pieces move a little too freely at times and I had to measure four times before I was comfortable with the result.

I went to eye Dr for the first time and it turns out I need glasses. My insurance paid for one pair but I wanted to get a back up pair on line. I asked my Dr for my PD and was sharply told they don’t give that out. I came home and ordered this but couldn’t wait so I went to another Dr and got my PD$40 I didn’t have. I wish I would have waited. Because this measurement was exact with the Dr I went to. Extremely happy. I ordered a back up pair on Zeni. I can’t wait to get them

I've had a series of eye issues the past couple of years. A macular hole that required a procedure to repair. Cataracts. I have never bought so many glasses in a such a short time. I was freaking out about the expense when my daughter told me about Zenni. But I needed my pupil distance. I got this and it gave the same measurement as my eye doctor -- they don't all give you your PD. My husband used it too to order glasses. It worked.

it should be very simple. But the bizarre design makes it very difficult to use. No instructions provided.

I bought this to measure my pupillary distance when ordering my glasses online (it is seldom shown on prescriptions and really vital). It is the easiest and most accurate to use, but it does require someone else to do the measuring. My only comment would be to make the nose bridge a little longer.
