There isn’t a lot of choice when it comes to small ankles and feet of children. Especially for my narrow, thin foot with high arch daughter. But this brace is well worth the price!Body of brace is made a lightweight stiff crinkly nylon that isn’t noticeable once the foot is in the shoe. The tongue of the brace is stretchy fabric so comfortable. The X ankle brace straps are thicker woven, amazing for support with super strong quality Velcro. The elastic gusset at back of heel allows for moderate bending of the foot. My daughter had to wear these for Roller Derby after twisting her ankle and she wasn’t able to fully squat or do some of the lower postures while wearing these.The super long laces are necessary to undo the brace wide enough to slip on and off without unlacing/relacing every time. We simply tuck the extra lace end into the side before crossing the side X straps. Definitely need an adult to help lace up, would take us about 10min total for both ankles. Highly recommend wearing over thin calf high socks, however for a dance class she wore over naked feet and was okay comfort wise.To keep clean, right after take them off, we set them outside to air, not keeping them in her dark, damp sport bag. That’s how to keep the funk smell out and not have to wash as frequently.My daughter wears a Youth 5/Women’s 7 with and ankle of 6.5” of which when laced this was the smallest the brace would close w/o overlapping edges

Last year, my daughter broke her ankle while playing outside at school. When basketball season came around, her ankle was sore and difficult to run on (I realized she needs physical therapy a little too late, it was never mentioned). Anyways, for the time being, she needed an ankle stabilizing brace. The ones at the store were one size fits most, and were too big on her smaller ankle/foot because she is only 9. This one laces up and has velcro straps that work to keep her ankle stabilized. However, even though it is a pediatric one, it is still too big for her foot and so it bunches up under her foot in her shoe. It bugs her during practices and games.

I ordered lots of braces for my 10 yr old gymnast. She had a bad sprain and wore a boot for quite awhile. We needed to transition her out of the boot and this brace is the one the orthopedist said offered the most support. I sent all the others back. She’s been using it during practice and it really does give her stability! Much cheaper here than ordering through the PT or a medical supply company.

Larger than described and too bulky. Not sure how stable they made my son’s ankle. We could not get a baseball or soccer shoe on his foot over it. Might work better on big kids or adults. Don’t waste your time on smaller kids, just get athletic tape and watch a YouTube video.

This brace is awesome I have a weak ankle due to injury. This brace has saved me from twisting my ankle many times now I am an adult that has child sized and shaped feet my feet stopped growing when I was very young Im a size 4 1/2 girls. Finding this brace was a life changing thing the fact that its pediatric is good it realy fits a child foot getting an adult brace in a small size wont fit a childs foot the artches are in different places. This brace is worth the cost it also very good quality and fits in a shoe without taking to much space up I wear mine with high tops it wont Im not sure how it would fit in other shoes but it is wonderful I also dont use a sock inside of it so it gets a better fit on the brace I put a sock over the brace.

Purchased on recommendation of doctor but after wearing and walking for 10 minutes child complained it rubbed her Achilles. Returned this and purchased a wrap brace.

Laces make it easy to use and supports ankle better than just plain Velcro ones

Works great but all the stitching fell out after first use and I had to sew them back together.
